its so funny bc you can hear the difference in their Diddy's in the beginning and how it changes half way through… Staff and O probably came and said "hey youre on camera make sure youre doing everything correctly to the book" lol
There are some incredible technologies that are currently being developed by the Army, which will extend the range of the venerable M777 howitzer and a Paladin. From the rocket assisted artillery rounds to ramjet powered to the so called "Super cannon" with unbelievable ranges of up to 1000 miles… M777 and Paladin should be able to hit 60 km very soon with the new longer barrels. With the aforementioned technologies these ranges will go up to 80 or even 100 km.
Also precision of fire will rise significantly. Although the Excalibur round is an awesome round with CEP of 15 feet, new rounds are being developed that won't depend on GPS cause they will have to operate within a GPS denied environment against a near peer enemy. Also these new rounds will have an infra red and milimeter wave guiding systems which will be able to hit moving targets. Truly an interesting time for the branch of the Army that has been neglected for years. Army's systems were a money pit and billions were spent on systems that went nowhere, from the Future brigade to the Crusader. Now the Army is closest to deploy an operational hypersonic glide missile..
we had the m198 at my last Combined Arms Exercise ( CAX ) at MCAGCC In 1988 or 1989 . The next time we fired was near Um Gadir Kuwait. I wasn't a gun bunny I was a 2531 com . FO, FDC, Ant farm, wired the "hooks" etc.
Was in alpha battery 1/11 remember shooting 92 rounds in 23 minutes FPF is artillery’s mating call . You hear that just look behind the gun line and watch every other mod come running to the line to go bat shit crazy!
Looks like the STUMPS

Marines, make yourself a favor, buy NEXTER Caesar.
55 caliber 155mm gun, mounted on a truck, loading assistance, fit inside C-130…on a 6 rounds burst can leave the place before the last round hit the target, will avoid counter fire.
