University of Twente expects “significant share” of EU funding for light-based microchips

The University of Twente has said that Dutch involvement in a series of EU-funded microchip R&D investments will provide it with a “mega boost for chip technology”.

The university said it expects to receive “a significant share” of the €380 million the EU is devoting to microchip initiatives, with €133m expected to be allocated to the Netherlands.
