Google is working on a new high-end laptop under its Pixel branding, according to a report by Android Headlines. The device, codenamed “Snowy,” is already in works, with a dedicated team focused on bringing it to life. With this new Pixel laptop, Google is aiming to launch a premium laptop to compete with some of the biggest names in the market.

While there is still some uncertainty around the operating system, it is widely believed that the Pixel Laptop will run on Chrome OS, Google’s cloud-based operating system. However, a recent report by Android Headlines suggests the possibility of the laptop running Android instead. This would align with Google’s ongoing efforts to merge the capabilities of Android and Chrome OS, offering a more integrated experience across its hardware and software ecosystem.

The new device will follow in the footsteps of Google’s previous premium laptops, starting with the Chromebook Pixel, which debuted in 2013 as the first device to carry the Pixel name. The Chromebook Pixel was notable for its premium design and high-resolution display, setting a benchmark for future Pixel devices. Google later released the PixelBook and the PixelBook Go, but has not launched a new laptop since 2019.

If successful, the Pixel Laptop could give new meaning to the Chromebook Pixel blending the best of Android and Chrome OS in a high-performance package. However, as reported, Google is still in the early stages of development, so it remains to be seen when (or if) the device will reach consumers.
