After OnePlus 12, OnePlus is now rolling out OxygenOS 15 for the OnePlus 12R, bringing a host of new features and improvements. The update, as informed by company’s official community post, is currently available in batches for regions including India, Europe, and global. The update is expected to deliver significant changes to the system’s visual design, performance, and customisation options.
One of the most notable changes in OxygenOS 15 is the enhanced system animations. The latest update renders smoother animations across the system. Parallel processing has been introduced for smooth transitions when multitasking or using resource-heavy apps. This extends to system elements like widgets and folders, providing a seamless experience throughout the device.
The visual effects have received a significant overhaul as well. The home screen now features redesigned icons. Additionally, the update refines the rounded corner design for greater consistency and smoothness across all the elements of the interface. These changes give the system a more cohesive and polished appearance.
OxygenOS 15 also introduces the new OnePlus OneTake feature, allowing users to personalise their experience further. With new flux themes, users can apply high-quality system wallpapers and personalise the Always-On Display, lock screen, and home screen. Flux and classic modes are supported, with fluid animations across all screens for a more dynamic and consistent look.
The multitasking experience is also improved with new Floating Window gestures, allowing users to interact with apps in a more flexible manner. Swiping down on a notification banner opens a floating window, and users can easily resize or close it with simple gestures. The Split View feature has also been enhanced, letting users drag to resize windows and customize their display as needed.
For battery and charging, OxygenOS 15 introduces a Charging Limit feature that halts charging at 80% to help preserve battery longevity and prevent degradation over time. A battery protection reminder will notify users if their device has been charging for too long, prompting them to disconnect to avoid overcharging.
In terms of privacy and security, the update brings several improvements. The Private Safe feature has been optimised to offer categorised views for images, videos, and documents, making it easier to manage hidden files. Additionally, the App Security Control feature blocks unwanted pop-ups and background activities, improving system security and battery efficiency.
