One of the girls was able to text friends and family, asking to be rescued. Now, Meyden’s former co-workers are recounting odd interactions with him that seem creepy in retrospect. I live near Lake Oswego. It’s a very wealthy suburb of Portland. I’m sure residents have a false sense of security and might assume morality in their wealthy neighbors. But, it happens everywhere. My daughter was never allowed to go to sleepovers. I may have trusted the kids mom but had no way of knowing about the dad, or if there were brothers, etc. She has the same rules for her own children today.

Very involved Dads exist. I 'm one – I was a Cookie Dad for years, running 20 girls. I also did Boy Scout stuff. The Boy Scouts had a rule of Two – no leader alone with any scouts. I used the same rule on the Girl Scouts, choosing to not be alone with any if I could avoid it.
Never heard about anything like this happening before but I would believe it. A lot of creeps in the world.
