Police officers and sheriff’s deputies are often the first ones on scene when a fire is reported. That can lead to daring rescues and very close calls. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber has 13 examples of selfless law enforcement officers running toward dangerous flames instead of away from them.

  1. Aw…. I can't watch this because my poor pups are terrified of smoke detectors , & even more so when they're low on battery and beep periodically

  2. I can’t believe the level of ignorance of people that were taking their sweet time leaving, putting officers lives in jeopardy over keys and other material possessions – sickening. A firefighter friend of mine died from something like this….people acting foolish

  3. My 73 year old aunt lived on a second floor apartment. It was on fire & there was a police man that was telling her she needs to jump. He broke her fall but she still had to get stitches on her head but it would have been WAY worse if he didn't help her. 1st responser's are hero's!!!!
