As the trial of Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer in charge of guns and ammunition on the set of the movie “Rust,” approaches next week, her attorneys are making strategic moves to shape the narrative presented to the jury. In a series of pre-trial motions, Gutierrez-Reed’s legal team is seeking to exclude certain information from being introduced as evidence, particularly allegations of her alleged drug use. The armorer faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence in connection with the tragic on-set shooting that claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021, when a gun held by actor Alec Baldwin discharged a live round.

  1. Why, Why, Why do People who have all the Freedom in the World and are Living in a Beautiful Place like the USA and have a Good Mother and Father and a Good Interesting Important Job want to take Drugs???

  2. Doesnt matter what the defense says she knew the protocol. And if she didnt why was she doing the job . Even i as somebody who knows nothing about firearms wouldFIND OUT what checks need to be done and do them and HOW DID LIVE FIREARMS GET ONTO THE SET SERIOUSLY alec baldwins responsibili ty was to check the gun too as part of the protocol and he did pull the trigger otherwise the gun wouldnt have gone off they are both responsible for this and its sickening to watch each side discredit the other they should be on trial together what a waste of time and energy

  3. John Wayne, Chuck Conners ( the rifleman) pulled the trigger a million times over several years.
Obviously the Rust set was a total mess. Mr. Baldwin was supposedly in charge? If so, he is guilty of murder.
Anyone else involved directly are negligent resulting in death.
    So sadd.

  4. Come on. We all know the live ammunition came from Seth. The guy was working the cops and the cover up. The guys office in the search warrant was an absolute nightmare. Not just her fault

  5. Who reached the gun to Baldwin?…Hannah says she reached it to Halls and Halls had said this himself then changed it to Hannah having reached it to Baldwin. Baldwin done a U-Turn on this as well.He said first said Halls reached it to him then changed it to Hannah at a later time.Who is LYING???

  6. Did they recruit several of these young, inexperienced people (prop master, armor, EMT, etc) from a junior college? When 6 walked off day before, they should have stopped production and corrected problems. Perhaps they could have prevented the shooting.

  7. A responsible movie crew should have ONE armourer, NOT 2! It's a job that only ONE experienced armourer should be doing the job. You should also know if that armourer has a drug issue. Recreational drug should also not be permitted. It's called pee tests! I think it's Gutierrez-Reed AND Sara Zachary's fault. Also, why did the judge and attorney's let Zachary answer saying, "sure?" That should have been stopped right off the bat! "Sure" is not a definitively "yes" answer.
I think the judge is asleep half the time. The prosecuting attorney has been taking charge, especially when Boyle starts working to get the truth out of these people.

  8. On sets, all trades-people have rolling carts that are basically a trunk with a lid that locks that hold/protect their tools. Some are very simple' some are highly customized. An armorer should always have a way to have a portable lock box to ensure that guns/ammo/props are not tampered with either intentionally or unintentionally. Only one person should have access.

  9. Also. video shows that DH saw numerous instances of guns being handled dangerously and did nothing. He was the "safety supervisor". Clearly, a scapegoat was needed and selected.

  10. I do not like Kari Morrissey, she is, dare I use the word, Bossy, and overly dramatic almost hysterical at times. She responds to objections like she is the judge orders the defense attorney around like he's her paralegal. The judge is totally outgunned by her.

  11. This whole entire case is a wash. You have evidence tampering, guns being unloaded and locked up. Bullets being thrown away as well as a traumatized medic on the set. Ballistics destroyed the gun that fired the fatal shot. An Armorer who is not qualified for her Job. Live ammunition on a movie set and know one knows how it got there. The whole case is a joke. Mistakes everywhere

  12. 1. The judge was right for not reconsidering the default judgement. The derelict lawyer needs to be sued. 2. In addition, the defense attorney is so inept, perhaps the strategy is that after Gutierrez-Reed is found guilty, she will move to have the verdict set aside because of Ineffective assistance of counsel.

  13. All weapons should have a tag twist tied to the trigger ring guard, until it is used in the scene. Every time the prop changes hands, it requires an initials on the card. So, 2 initials each pass. Both people handling the weapon during the pass must sign the card. That would keep the accountability in check.

  14. Is it still volitional if Baldwin pulled the trigger accidentally? Without intending to do so, without making a decision or choice. We saw how it looked when he pulled out the gun in the footage made before the lunch break. Edit: I mean due to the bad coordination or smt.

  15. I feel like the young lady will end up being found negligent and will do some jail time, Baldwin will skate . All 3 people , including Alec should have checked that weapon 🔫 before handling .

  16. Baldwin should absolutely be charged. These actors have got to be responsible for their actions. It's not just going to work and doing the same old same old. When you're handling a firearm it's different

  17. How is this lady going to be a medic and then sue them because she's an emotional distress from trying to save somebody I mean she didn't think of these things or the traumatic incidents that could happen of being a medic..so she sues she shouldn't be allowed to free people because she just uses it as a weapon and a play for money poor her.. that's everything that's wrong with America today
