He knew right from wrong. He ran after he did this so that can't be blamed on mental illness. True mental illness doesn't allow a person to know the difference between wrong and right. I'm so tired of the excuses people use because of mental illness. There comes a time that the law needs to stop using a blanket excuse to decide the fate of those attacked or killed by a person with mental problems. Yes the system failed him but in my mind so did his own family. If I for one knew that my son, brother, father had already hurt someone because of a mental illness them if not let them out of my sight and not allow them to get their hands on a weapon to use on the streets. Facts are as family you have as much responsibility to both your family and citizens to make sure both are safe if the system won't.
