An Indiana woman is accused of causing her foster son’s death by sitting on him for several minutes. Jennifer Lee Wilson, a 340-pound woman, allegedly suffocated 10-year-old Dakota Levi Stevens by sitting on him as punishment for “acting up” after he tried to escape her home. Investigators obtained doorbell camera footage of the incident showing Wilson on the boy for at least five minutes. Wilson was charged with reckless homicide after Stevens died at the hospital. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner breaks down the shocking case.

  1. If a child is begging for someone else to take of them because they're being abused then believe the child and do something about it.
This beast decided to sit on him knowing well that he wouldn't survive being under her whale body. This is crazy. She deserves life in prison for this.

  2. She should have not been a foster mother. She clearly is out of shape. In no condition to take care of any child

For someone who takes in foster children she should have more empathy and understanding the emotions of children undergoing .any issues. She honestly pure evil. I hope she rots in jail for the rest of her life. That child was still so young and had so much to live for.

  3. 😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

  4. That poor baby was looking for help. That he had to go to a neighbor's house because his foster parents wouldn't allow him to call his case manager, likely because of the abuse he was experiencing in the first place, only for no action by the neighbors to be taken, is heartwrenching.

Over and over and over again, and like so many other stories of child abuse, every adult that should have protected him had failed him.

  5. wtf?! what did that "parent" think would happen to a tiny child when you lay a 400-lb cow on top of him?! and that dcs office and the judges involved are all accountable – it was a disgustingly terrible ability to interpret the factors involved or their lazy or intentional criminal decisions that led to this kid being placed with a monster

  6. As a foster parent, the money issue is tricky and there is no “clean” or easy way to address it. I’m single and live in a teacher’s salary…it’s doable but I don’t think I’d be able to stretch my salary alone to accommodate my foster kids. I think to suggest that fostering be completely uncompensated is unrealistic. Most people wouldn’t be able to make it work. That said, my personal way of handling it, since I take in older kids, is full transparency with the kids.
I break down the budget into what I bring in vs what they “bring in” via the foster care stipend.
Then it’s broken down into certain percentages for needs, wants, and savings. I have a rough ratio calculated, and pull money from both income sources in proportion to cover needs and wants bills. The rest of the foster stipend is split into a savings account and checking account that I open for my placements to use. So my current placement has direct access to the leftover “wants” money percentage of the stipend and then the rest goes into his savings account. I also don’t request respite care for vacations, unless he wants to skip. So when I traveled across the country all last month, he was by my side the entire time.

  7. I want to know what else she was doing to this poor baby. Children don’t just run away and beg another to be adopted just for fun. This woman killed him like it was nothing. 6 years is a slap on the wrist.

  8. 6 years is not justice. This woman deserves to rot in jail the rest of her life. She should get a much longer sentence because of her position of power and because how vulnerable her victim was and she was charged with keeping him safe.

  9. Oh my goodness…this lady sat on a child and ended his life!! So many people failed this child. My condolences to the family. Rest in Peace, Precious child.🕯
She should never be able to live in a house again, never around children again.
