Alec Baldwin’s manslaughter trial for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins is scheduled to begin next week. But a preview of the evidence was already made public during the trial of armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed earlier this year. Baldwin maintains he didn’t pull the trigger of the revolver that fired and killed Hutchins. But prosecutors say the evidence disputes his claims. The actor believed he was handled "a prop gun", then he was blamed shooting it. Like I was hired to fly a flight simulator, and then got sued because I crushed the plane in the flight simulator. What a joke!
stop calling them "accidental discharges" there was nothing accidental about them. they occurred because the firer chose not to handle them in a safe manner. they were negligent discharges.
the gun in question was a pieta replica. it had a floating firing pin specifically wouldnt rest on the primer with the hammer all the way down.

None of this makes any sense, he should have been able to get up and pull the trigger all six times directly at anyone and it should have never had live ammo in it , I don't mean blanks , I mean ammo with a full metal jacket in it , the only thing they should have had on set was blanks , he probably shot directly at her , but thinking the gun had blanks in it he probably didn't have any concerns about shooting it at her
When will the real questions be asked? Firearm props, “prop” ammunition, set behaviour, training are all aspects that should be under the control of the set armourer. Safe handling of “prop” firearms is a very complicated process.

Have not learned our lesson. You’re paying someone to keep people safe, the armory person. If you never had live ammunition on a set you would not need an armory person. That gun has 6 rounds. Should the final person that touches the gun, empty the rounds and make sure they are all blanks. Yes, Baldwin is an arrogant, wealthy, narcissistic person. That does not make him purposely want to kill someone. Guns and cars are possible weapons of killings. No more live arounds around any movie set!

That was supposed to be a prop gun .. where did the live round come from and why did it come into battery when he cocked the gun? Almost like he was set up? I watched the video's of him with the gun .. and even knowing it was a prop gun he kept his finger off the trigger when moving it around.

If you're handed a gun full of fake bullets, that has been checked by two experts, I doubt your thinking it's dangerous. I'm sure it's best practice to triple check it, but not a law. Alex the actor is not liable. Alex the producer is, as he hired the unprofessional armorer and helped create and allow unsafe working conditions. Why not allow him to be tried as the producer????

The main thing, how a real live round was loaded into the gun. Who loaded a live round? That right there is the issue.

The damning evidence is Alec pointing his gun at Halyna with his finger on the trigger, then proceeding to pull back the hammer, then releasing it, with a gun that he admits he didn't check. Nor did he even witness anyone check it.
Alec decided it was okay to aim then fire his gun at Halyna, at close range, without knowing whether his gun was safe. I'd hardly call that using due care when handling a firearm.
