Former YouTube “momfluencer” Ruby Franke was in a Utah courtroom Monday, agreeing to plead guilty to four counts of second-degree aggravated child abuse. As part of the plea, she is required to testify against her co-defendant and business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, who is due in court next week. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber takes a deep dive into what happened to Franke’s two youngest children inside Hildebrandt’s home.

  1. It’s crazy to not only make your 6 year old make their own lunch for school, but then to refuse to bring them food when they forget to make their lunch.

  2. Considering the new evidence dump this was all BS, she was lying through her teeth and thinks she is the victim

  3. Expecting a 6yr old to make their own lunch …….she hadn’t a bloody clue of child development or she expects her kids to be slaves

  4. JESSE WEBER You are a hypnotic. why didn't you inform us on why the children were misbehaving to warrant such extreme punishment by the mother.

  5. Context may in fact be that Ruby was manipulated by Jodi… but she should NOT be using that as an excuse in any way. She should be taking full responsibility for not only failing her children but betraying them in the most horrific way. If she honestly believes that this would never have happened if not for jodi, then that is something she needs to struggle with alone, and discuss in therapy. It is not something she needs to be waving to the judge and public- because then she is only using it as an excuse to avoid taking full responsibility for the choices she made.

  6. Horrific. Glad that the kids are safe now and over this tragic experience. Where is the father of these kids? If he was in their lives, what was he doing to avoid all this?

  7. Everyone failed those kids, not just their mother. If we really cared about children as individual han beings and not property of their parents, there would have been intervention from the school, family, even neighbors.
Other people's children are our business.

  8. I feel like nobody legally or socially is focusing on the husband’s part in this. He is just as complicit.
