Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence after famed actor Alec Baldwin fired a live round on the set of the movie “Rust” in New Mexico. Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed. The armorer was in charge of all weapons and ammunition on set. Witnesses so far have testified about everything from Gutierrez-Reed’s reaction following the shooting and another accidental discharge that happened earlier in filming. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber analyzes the top eight moments in the trial so far.

  1. When something so disruptive happens it's hard to remember anything. I have heard people say she was set up??? Idk if she was or wasn't. IT is a hard trial and Baldwin is going to have a hard trial as well. So sorry to the family that lost a loved one. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 My deepest condolences for the family 🙏🏽

  2. 👋🏻 hey i actually got one question: how come, why don’t the production just use AI to generate that 1 , 2 seconds of shooting scene? 🎬

like this save the trouble of buying real hand prop guns, risking everyone’s lives or if everyone is too tired to observe safety rules. All these trouble like very silly actually. Couldn’t have happened…

  3. Why was the ' propmaster ' loading a gun when it was the armourers job , not hers , the propmaster should not be loading anything into a gun, was the propmaster asked this ? , not on the video's I've seen , hmmmm , the propmaster knows it's not her job but did it anyway, why ? , could she have loaded the live round ? , are there videos out there where these questions are addressed ?

  4. I am astounded that she allowed live bullets (OF IDENTICAL TYPE, CALIBER AND LOOK) to be allowed anywhere near the set and allowed the prop guns to be used in a live fire "plinking" session with the actors in the vicinity of the film set! This by itself is a horrific safety violation and it just showed how negligent and sketchy the whole operation was on the "Rust" film set. Why are you surprised that deliberately bring in live ammo of the same type, use them on the REAL prop guns and later find live bullets all over the set…

  5. All of this along with the entire crew quitting the night before saying something bad was going to happen?
Alecs an old reliable, as far as him being an a**hole/narcissist, so that parts easy & basically guaranteed

Honestly I smell a set up. One those who were actually charged, waltzed right into, with the willful ignorance of “knowing it all” combined with saving $$ & hiring the cheapest armorer they could find, thinking they really didn’t need one- & could yank this kid around, bcus she clearly wasn’t ready for the lead armorer position. Standing up to Dave Hall OR Alec B wasn’t going to happen, instead she took & dispensed drugs on set trying to drown out that small voice in her gut telling her right from wrong, as many of us have/do.
If she’d actually taken her job more seriously & been able to stand firm in her job responsibilities & the rules required of the on set armorer – they couldn’t have done this “to her” or Helena
Who’s responsible for the set up?
Idk but there’s some shady characters present, who were supposed to be professionals, but didn’t preform professionally, for sure…. (Seth gets a dishonorable mention, at least! )

  6. I don't understand why Alec would be culpable, if he wasn't the one responsible for ensuring the gun was safe. He was just doing his job, he had no idea the gun was live, why would he be held responsible?

  7. It feels very foolish for the defense attorney to claim they were trying to blame everything on Hannah when numerous other people were charged.

State pointed this out in front of the jury and I bet they noticed. Morrisey even challenged this in a pre-trial motion, going as far as calling Bowles a liar.

  8. She is responsible one way or another but I think everyone around her could have noticed issues earlier especially management and those in the know of industry standards… question for me is why no one intervened before the tragedy?
