  1. When i became addicted to fentanyl in 2005-6,i lived in wayne county Pennsylvania. We got it from new Jersey. it was fentanyl patches. We chewed fentanyl cancer patient patches because it was cheaper than heroin and lasted longer. Its crazy the world only knows about it now. Thank God im clean 10-11 years now. I pray my experiences can help change lives 🙏

  2. This is so hard for me to listen too.this poor soul baby boy. I gave cpr to a best friend who died from fentanyl in 2005. I became addicted to fentanyl in 2006 and became clean in 2014 when i was pregnant with my daughter. Id already lost custody of my son in the midst of my addiction in 2008. I was only 21 when i became addicted . THE World is only hearing about fentanyl now? This scares me. The physical addiction to that drug is unable to live with. Ill forever live on Sublocade and the love of my kids to keep me alive. 46:09

  3. There needs to be more research and technology so law enforcement can test on the spot and get immediate results. With all the death surrounding this drug, why hasn’t this been done?! I hope since this podcast came out, there is such a test that gives police and investigators somewhat of an upper hand to investigate accurately and immediately. So very sorry this happened to Dr. Laura and her family.

  4. In the place where the grieving parent speaks of a person in pain with a toothache and they can't get to the dentist in time and their friend gives them a percocet to take the edge off and you can die from that due to fetynol lacing. The problem i have been encountering with mostly doctors but dentists too who refuse to prescribe pain meds when we are truly suffering. I am angry that the powers that be hold the worlds resources in their hands and withhold it from we the people who need it when we are in pain. The result of this is Good people are driven out to engage with the dealers to take the pain away because the doctors and dentists have quit managing pain in their patients. This has to change.

  5. This was so hard to listen too. My deepest sympathy for the loss of Dr Laura's son Sammy. The drug problem has been a problem for hundreds of years. We had alchemist peddling drugs back in the horse and wagon days. We as a country have been fighting a war against drugs since Ronald Reagan. When 1 drug dealer is taken out of the mix, 10 more take their place. Its about money. You have to educate the kids around you. Let them know that any drug off the street can kill you. If the drug was not prescribed by your doctor DIRECTLY TO YOU then don't take it, don't care what it looks like. We will never catch or prosecute the big drug dealers, we will only succeed in getting the low level drug dealers. The people that buy drugs off the street play a role in this. They are not innocent because they are illegally buying drugs off the street. Their death is not a homicide. It is an accidental death that the dead person played a role in. It is sad but education is key. I would rather use resources for education and helping those addicted to drugs get rehab and support to get off so there is no market for illicit drugs.

  6. I've never commented on a podcast but Sammy's story has just overwhelmed me and I am sorry for his family truly breaks me. I too .lost my son on November 20, 2021 feel like it was yesterday. He was a very accomplished successful young man at 27 years old, and this was after Sammy, Not expected but the glue to the family of seven horrific. My prayers are with you.

  7. Heart breaking, my daughter was brutally murdered 4/4/20 and the three men murdered her for 250$ between the three of them. I can’t relate because every case is different but I miss my baby so much this touched me. Prayers for this family

  8. My mom was given fentanyl in the ER after a trimalleolar ankle fracture in order for the doctor to set her severely broken ankle. She is 68 and when she came out of it, she said that she had insane hallucinations. She doesn’t take drugs but she said that she would have thought this is what it would feel like to take acid. Her injury was very severe and she was in the ER when they gave it to her. I cannot even imagine what people who are not severely injured feel while under this substance.

  9. Dr Laura had a different perspective on drugs + kids. Decades ago she blamed the poor character of the parents.
My eldest is a fentanyl addict. It has destroyed him. He is still here on earth, but he’s gone. 😢

  10. 1 YEAR AGO I LOST MY 27 YR OLD SON TO A FENTANYL OVERDOSE. HE STRUGGLED WITH ADHD ANXIETY DEPRESSION & ALCOHOL ADDICTION. HE WAS IN REHAB CLEAN 3 MONTHS HAD A RELAPSE AFTER THE 3 MONTHS. ULTIMATELY HE K N E W HE COULD GO TO THE STREETS & FIND FENTANYL. HE SAID HE NO LONGER WANTED TO BE A BURDEN TO (MOM & DAD) HE HAD
M A N Y M A N Y TIMES PUT HIMESLF INTO FACILITIES FOR HELP!! YES HE FOUND SOMEONE WHO GAVE HIM COCAINE LACED WITH FENTANYL. MY HEART BREAKS FOR ALL WHO HAVE LOST A LOVED ONE TO THIS EVIL! THIS EPIDEMIC MUST BE STOPPED BLESS OUR OFFICERS & PROTECT THEM.
