Alec Baldwin’s trial for the shooting death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins is scheduled to begin in July. Baldwin has asked Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer to dismiss the case against him in several motions. In his most recent request, Baldwin argues that the involuntary manslaughter charge should be dismissed because the revolver he shot Hutchins with was destroyed during testing. Judge Sommer recently heard other arguments related to the upcoming trial. Law&Crime’s Angenette Levy breaks down the latest hearing in this episode of Crime Fix — a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

  1. Mr Baldwin is very very naughty and above everyone. Mr Baldwin also shows no remorse from day one …. Actually believe he is the victim and he should have to be in front of a jury of his peers. Day one he played the victim should of not do a interview on tv yrs ago and give his own words in his tv interview. Very naughty to ask for his charges should be dropped.

  2. He is not responsible. The weapons people are. He was told to pull the trigger and told the gun was no loaded. It's not up to him to double check a gun it's actually the job of the people who are hired to manage the guns. Who would have thought?

  3. Such an obnoxious lie "never pulled the trigger." He was a producer and because of that he's uniquely guilty in this case. But he's the famous actor so I'm sure he'll get off while the armor got the maximum sentence.

  4. This other girl is getting tried and found guilty for involuntary manslaughter. And he's been sash, aint around? All these months ridiculous. He's the producer and he had the gun. He should have been more careful. He needs to be held accountable. A person died ridiculous already. Yeah, pass the book. Wow these baldwins are scary hollywierd 😮

  5. Baldwin first used a firearm onset in the Hunt for Red October in 1990. Surely at that time or subsequently he was instructed in the 4 cardinal rules of firearm safety.

There are only rare circumstances where a firearm actually needs to be aimed at an actor. Baldwin's behavior as seen on the publicly released video shows acting in a cavalier, unprofessional to say the least, unsafe manner. He waves the gun around without any regard for the direction of the muzzle.

His actions were the proximate cause of the cinamatographer's death. One ALWAYS handles a firearm as if it were loaded. He can't claim that he was told it was clear because firearm safety is such that each individual must be responsible for the weapon that is in his hands

    He is guilty. No doubt.
