Alec Baldwin claims he never pulled the trigger from the gun that killed Halyna Hutchins on his “Rust” movie set in New Mexico. Despite witnesses saying he was practicing shooting techniques, some firearm experts are now backing Baldwin saying he could be telling the truth. Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie spoke with Hollywood armorer Dutch Merrick about why Baldwin may be innocent ahead of trial.

  1. He got off because the prosecution screwed up the case. A witness saw Alex with his finger on the trigger during the actual shooting…

  2. Unless AB intentional threw the gun and killed someone, he shouldn't be charged. It's not the actors that check the guns, it's literally the Armorer that puts the bullets in the gun and declares it a "hot gun" or "cold gun." He was told it's a "cold gun."

  3. Seems a bit political or for someone thinking they will benefit from charging mr Baldwin. It was a terrible workplace accident by bad "professionals" handling the weapons.

  4. but if someone put grease on a step instead of glue then it is still a accident but from stupidity… thus he wouldn't have slipped and fell he would have tripped!
they already had a accidental fire…so…… btw he said millions of blank were used…..he never mentioned how often or common do they accidentally fire on set??

  5. So according to this dufus the crew who left for safety issues caused the set to be less safe?!? 🙄 He also left out overzealous AB rushing everyone including HGR causing disastrous results. The laws of physics still apply to film sets because if they didn't no one would die "in real life"…get the f— outta here with that BS! It wasn't even a magic bullet that traveled through two people killing the second one. Where do you find these insufferable guests?

  6. He did not say he pulled it all the way back, he said he pulled it,"almost all the way back", then ket go. Thevhammer fell, if there was a round under it there is no reason to expect that it would not go off except by pure luck.

  7. Why didn't they investigate the Prop house that provided the ammo? Didn't an employee of the prop house, on the set, admit to destroying ammo, evidence? Weren't they given immunity to testify? The pictures of that place looked like a hoarder house. A total mess, seems very possible they messed up.

  8. I remember at the time this all happened, one story about why Alec Baldwin was charged was because safety protocols were skipped to save money and Alec Baldwin was somehow responsible for the skipping of those safety protocols.
It's interesting that, that never came up in this video.

  9. Ultimate it was reckless gun handle skills and operation that caused this tragedy… Baldwin was the reckless gun handler in this case.. He didn’t follow and disregarded every firearm rule and then some.. You Need to break at least two or more of the firearm handling rules at the same time to have something like this happen… Again, Baldwin broke literally Every Firearm Handling Rule and Then Some… Absolutely Reckless.. If he didn’t know better, then he should have… He was in control of the firearm at the time.. His responsibility…. The firearm he used was tested and found to be in 100% working condition… That gun was under his direct control… He is 100% responsible for that weapon no matter what… He accepted a weapon without checking and verifying its condition, then pointed it at another person and pulled the trigger… let’s suppose for shits and giggles the weapon did just go off for no reason.. Baldwin still did not preform his due diligence, plus broke every firearm handling rule and then some.. It doesn’t matter who did what or was supposed to verify that weapon previous to giving it to Baldwin… It was Baldwin’s soul responsibility to verify the condition of that weapon and follow all the firearms safety rules…. END OF STORY….

  10. Donald trump ain’t in Powerade. Should never pointed a gun toward anyone. Plus Alec Baldwin let a lot of safety hazards go by. This guy is probably bought and paid for.

  11. Lightly squeezing the trigger IS equivalent to pulling the trigger. A fully cocked cowboy revolver takes a whisper of finger pressure to drop the hammer. Are people using double action triggers to describe single action?

  12. Even if AB hadn’t “pulled the trigger”, (which he def did) he still POINTED the gun at someone!! He was also rushing and used the gun as a literal pointer in other scenes.

  13. I thought that it was obvious that the boxes of the live ammunition matched boxes that Hannah Reeds dad had at home?

Where is he getting the information that the live ammo came from Seth?

  14. I’ve stated a couple of times before that Baldwin is so deep into hatred of 2nd amendment supporters, that he may have shot to make a point. Don’t think he thought anyone would die. Don’t believe he wanted to kill her either, though.
His behavior and statements in the aftermath were completely out of touch and out of line.

  15. He Pulled the Trigger. IT IS THE ONLY WAY A Single Action Revolver WILL GO OFF> they Proved that when they Destroyed it….. IT broke Testing it to see it go off. IT DID NOT till it Broke. He is A LIAR … Your Title Is Flase… Ask any Gun owner

  16. We still does not have a footage with the gun firing. The one with the so called shooting footage does not have recoil, flash or smoke or any indication that the gun went off.

  17. I agree I've never understood why the prosecutor would see the Assistant Director who took possession of the gun from the armorer and literally calls out "cold gun" as having guilt only worthy of $500 and Baldwin deemed more responsible. Definitely some politics at play

  18. The prosecutor has gone a step too far, one has to wonder why. She seems intelligent and competent, this makes no legal sense.

  19. They'll do and say anything to get this guy off. He's part of the Hollywood elite and they've already given him and his fake Spanish wife and their 27 kids a reality tv show.

  20. I don't think it matters whether Baldwin pulled the trigger or not. The gun was verified as "cold" by two security experts. I think this trigger-pulling issue is moot. I agree with your guest–this case has gone too far.

  21. This is complete 100% b s. His finger was on the trigger AND ab should have been familiar with real ammo and whether his gun was loaded or not. Careless gun handling period!

  22. Did he point a gun directly at a person and do anything other than just hold it, without personally making sure there were no live rounds in it, yes or no? Kind of hard to shoot a person if you don't have a gun pointed at anyone and then do something with it involving the hammer or the trigger.
