Alec Baldwin’s Convicted Armorer to Testify Against Him in ‘Rust’ Trial – Everything Law and Order Blog

During Law&Crime’s special coverage of the Alec Baldwin trial, viewers asked how beneficial “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed’s testimony could be tomorrow when she is allegedly expected to testify. John Day, a Santa Fe criminal defense attorney, responded by saying he believes that the jury will believe that Gutierrez-Reed is at fault for the fatal shooting. Former FBI agent Bobby Chacon believes the people on set were reckless by saying, “This would never happen on any other movie set.’

  1. All this happened to try and sabotage Hannah’s career because of jealousy. Now Morrisey has been withholding evidence from defense and Baldwins case has been dismissed. Team Hannah!!❤

  2. I think hes just as much are more responsible for this, The fact he didn't want to "hurt her feelings "? She was inexperienced, and that was more of a reason to check her work.

  3. This piece of Chit yelled, screamed, belittled and harassed the entire cast in an effort to stay under budget.
He is absolutely liable for manslaughter by promoting an unsafe environment.

  4. The same people that call for gun bans are the same ones that make millions of dollars and have made millions and millions of dollars using them in films and the hypocrisy of them using them in films and shooting at targets around the movie set shows deep down they love guns. What a bunch of hypocrites.

  5. Baldwin's gonna regret hiring an econo-armorer until the end of his days.
Tough lesson on how you get what you pay for. He'll not only have to live with this charge and trial, and possibly of a conviction and sentence, but with having killed one person and wounded another.
How many other ways could he have trimmed the budget without cutting corners on firearms safety on that movie set?
As he was Executive Producer, I think that's Baldwins real crime.

  6. The Rust production company was fined $100,000 by OSHA. One of the reasons was they did not give the armorer enough time to verify that they were no live rounds on the set after the previous two negligent discharges.

The gun cart was not lockable and the armorer was not allowed to be present during the rehearsal.

  7. Alec will get off scott free. Santa Fe county where this trial is taking place is a democrat stronghold, and they won’t let anything happen to their poster boy. This trial is his punishment in their eyes. Hannah will get no justice in this world.

  8. EXACTLY what Bobby said. Having worked for over 40 years on film sets, this was a disaster. Baldwin, as one of the producers, does, IMHO have some responsibility. But they determined that is not to be considered. Listening to audio from the set, he was calling for people to hurry up in reloading during shooting. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT an actor's prerogative, it is not their job, and it is bullying and unprofessional behavior. It appears he felt the power to do that as a producer, certainly not an actor. It is so tragic, but ultimately, you get what you pay for. Frankly, it seems to me the fault of both Baldwin and the armorer, who never would have been hired if not for nepotism and a production trying to cut costs. The safety officers, stunt coordinators and COMPETENT AD's in the business would never have allowed this to happen. But they cost money to hire. Too bad Baldwin wasn't willing to reduce his fee to hire trained staff. He will have to live with the knowledge he killed someone and left her child without a mother for the rest of his life.

  9. How could the ammo cart be in such disarray? Because the armor was taking drugs. The lack of professionalism and improper hiring on that set led to the death of an employee. Absolutely Baldwin is culpable for some level of manslaughter. He should've pled out this trial because unless we've misread this judge she's not going to let Baldwin walk because hes a celeb.
