  1. This case is quite simple. if you operate a fire arm, you yourself are responsible for the safety check, nobody else.
And this is no prop gun we're talking about, this is a real handgun, anyone operating it, whether it be an actor or not, movie set or not, must follow the 10 basic safety rules of handling a fire arm.
if you're driving a motor vehicle on the road you are responsible for safe driving.
So, Baldwin himself had to do a check on whether the gun that was handed to him, was safe to operate.

  2. I don't understand this. We've been using prop guns in theater, TV and movies for well over 100 years. Is every actor supposed to double check whether or not the prop person did things correctly?

  3. It’s baffling that his role as a producer isn’t being allowed by the judge. That was a huge part of the case in my mind. I still think he’s guilty (and a complete narcissistic jerk), but not allowing any of the responsibilities under that job title will make it a lot harder.

  4. my dad worked in tv for 40 years – they never let anyone but the armorer and the actor check the weapons. the line that the Pros is trying to make about "everyone there, even the boom guy, is able to check the weapon" this is false, esp since the more stringent laws put in place after BL's on set accident, its just a total fabrication – they should make sure the jury understands "as a layperson" that the prosecutors are blowing smoke to try and start a fire,,,

  5. Alec Baldwin is getting ready to receive a sweetheart deal. This will be interesting to see the differences between Hannah's trial and outcome. If Alec gets off Scott free while Hannah is serving her sentence that will be a Bum-Shuttle.
