Body of missing high school student found but his death remains a mystery – Everything Law and Order Blog

In this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: Eighteen-year-old Thomas Brown was a big fish in the little town of Canadian, Texas. He was a two-time state football champion and class president at his high school with lots of friends.

On Nov. 23, 2016, the night before Thanksgiving, Thomas met up with some friends and was seen later that evening filling up his car with gas.
But when he missed curfew and wasn’t answering his phone — his family became worried and called the Sheriff’s office.

Thomas’ car was eventually located near a water treatment plant, but he was nowhere to be found. Investigators say they found a tiny drop of blood inside the car, but other than that there are NO leads.

In January 2019, human remains were found and positively identified as Thomas.

A few months later in August the Texas Attorney General’s Office suspended the investigation into his death, claiming there was “no viable evidence” regarding foul play in Thomas’ death. But the family and Private investigators, disagree and say Thomas was murdered.

Let’s take a look back at the case of a popular high school student whose death continues to be a mystery.

  1. Incredible Mother. I'm astonished with her bravery. What kind of mother would be willing to risk her life to stay in a town that has their own opinions about her, even threatens her? A most amazing Mother!!!! I have to say that, if the Mother loses her life for staying close to the heartbeat of her destiny to find out who murdered her son…. I pray that the murderer will then be discovered. I think she has that kind of mind at this point, but I really really really hope that the murder comes forth or gets found out first! Praise you Mama!!!! I'm gonna pray and am hoping for the truthful end to your loss. XO

  2. The young man’s brother declined to take a lie detector test, and the mother and father’s results indicated deception. Just something to keep in mind before criticizing law enforcement. Additionally, the young man’s cellphone records showed he had looked up suicide-prevention numbers just hours before going missing.

  3. So he was popular and already had a fkn car in highschool. I had non of those and still made some friends am that came and went, my life was not good like his and yet he is the one murdered like a dog. Im still surviving moving forward. I am doing better than him !

  4. This is so disgusting. The Sheriff has been reprimanded and he is no longer the Sheriff as he was caught tampering with evidence. And yet STILL no update(s) regarding Thomas Brown's murder. I hope the truth comes out soon so the family can have some sense of closure.

  5. 2. The Sherrif Nathan knows more than what he has revealed. He has knowingly obstructed justice. The deputy also no longer serving and protecting that community also knows something. They were corrupt. The fact that the sheriff had a prior run-in with the victim and subsequently abused his power on Thomas and got called out for it; raises the possibility of a revenge crime. What bothers me was the Sherrif's statement that Tom was queer. Which reveals that a hate crime had been committed and that there was more than one person involved. The sheriff and his team on purpose spoiled the crime scene and falsified documents. No fingerprints, tire tracks, or DNA were preserved. They even missed the 9mm casing. Instead, their story of a runaway became their excuse and science that broke basic protocol wiping away crucial evidence. They lied and they discredited others who had the truth. Looks identical to today's government in power. Was it possible somebody else who wanted it to look like a suicide searched the website? Thomas was most probably killed where he was found and the shell casing was picked up by the shooter who then drove his vehicle to the place where it was dropped off. It was never checked for fingerprints because there should not have been any. Was the casing forensically checked? The sheriff recovered the vehicle from the family for suspicious reasons to make sure no fingerprints were left behind. He probably first has been beaten for being queer and then shot. Someone will be arrested for the murder. Kudus for his mother who continues to seek justice. She will find it.

  6. That car was clearly a crime scene because of the blood and shell case but returned immediately?! Woo wee this case screams cover up. Somebody wanted this case shelved/closed quick!! I bet a well to do, powerful families child has something to do with this. Complete cover up! Freaking sad man. Rip

  7. I'm only a paralegal but this sheriff is guilty of something. He seems shaddy..did they look into him? He tried really hard not find any person (s) of interest..May he R.I.P. God's blessings to his family.

  8. The sheriff was either part of the nefarious plan or knows who killed this boy. He isn't handling this case properly at all. He's sealing information because he's protecting someone. This is so disgusting. I hope the family gets closure on what happened to Tom. So sad on every level.

  9. Read these comments.
And you wonder why the sheriff doesn't want this open to the media? They're here to tell a story, not get to the truth, and these dummies assume they have the whole story.

  10. What did the employees of the gas station say? Was there someone with him when he got gas? Where there other people getting gas that could be questioned? Was there video surveillance at the gas station or nearby places? That's the place and people that need to be questioned over and over. Also all ring doorbell cameras should be looked at. Also how about all stores that have surveillance. I know they have some surveillance footage, but there should be more out there.
