A North Carolina police officer was arrested just hours after a man he was arresting accused him of stealing $900 from him in March. Bodycam footage shows Henry Chapman being confronted by Moncre Moon, who claimed the officer stole his cash. Chapman appeared defensive, but Moon persisted until other officers began questioning the situation. Chapman eventually opened the door of his patrol car and Moon pointed out a wad of 100 dollar bills and a receipt from Wendy’s, which he bought earlier that day. “It’s not mine,” Chapman said. Moon said, “That’s my money right there.”

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police took the accusations seriously and asked Moon for his side of the story after taking him into custody for an unrelated issue. Moon explained what happened in detail, telling an officer he witnessed Chapman take the money and crumple it up before placing it in his pocket. The same officer who interviewed Moon took Chapman’s firearm from him shortly after. Chapman allegedly admitted to taking the money but said he wasn’t stealing it, according to the affidavit. Chapman was charged with embezzlement and resigned the following day.

  1. This man is too nice to these cops. On top of that, they are doing their best to protect him even tho they know he's a thief. I'm sure they investigated and found the officer did nothing wrong.

  2. I know this happened months ago by the date on the comments, but I just seen it. The fact of the matter is that internal affairs must go back and AND INVESTIGATE (ALL) ARREST AND CHARGES DONE BY THIS OFFICER. There might be people siting in prison RIGHT NOW by false evidence and tampering. This is disturbing.

  3. When your skin color is not a certain color this is what happens 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

  4. How much cash do you have in you really 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮, You know its not yours 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

  5. This is unacceptable 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

  6. "Chapman said that he did take the money but denied stealing it…"
    WHAT?????
He was charged with embezzelment (why not theft?) and resigned the next day.

  7. If it’s not YOUR money officer who’s is it ? And how did it get in the drivers door that only you have access too along with a receipt for food the gentleman that is handcuffed purchased before you stopped him ?
