A Florida mom was arrested after allegedly leaving her young kids in her unlocked car and going inside a bar in October. Jamie Leigh Gunn’s two-year-old child and eight-month-old infant were found asleep in the car, which was still running. West Melbourne police took Gunn into custody and charged her with child neglect without great bodily harm.

  1. In the late 80's, it wasn't all that uncommon for my cousin and I to be left in the car while our parents went into the bar. Usually the bar that my aunt, our parents' other sibling, worked at. I wonder if they would have gotten arrested if someone had told on them or if it was just part of the culture back then 🤔

  2. My husband and I needed to attend a funeral a couple of weeks ago. Our 15 year old son didn't want to go. So, I told my husband that I wasn't going to leave our son home alone for the 5 hours we would be gone since it was an hour's drive away and that he had to go without me. Even at age 15, I'm not comfortable leaving a child home alone for 5 hours.
