In an incident captured on bodycam footage, Ohio police arrested a woman for allegedly bringing a gun to her son’s elementary school on November 9. The Cleveland Police Department reported that the mother, identified as Paris Beasley, 26, was stopped by security after walking her son to school. During the confrontation, Beasley claimed that she had informed security about the firearm and that she had done so on a daily basis without encountering any issues. However, her actions were in direct violation of school policies and state laws regarding firearms on educational grounds.

Following the incident, a Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted Paris Beasley on November 21 on charges of conveying a deadly weapon into a school safety zone and aggravated menacing. According to the bodycam footage, Cleveland police responded to Luis Muñoz Marin School Dual Language Academy after receiving a call from a security guard who reported that Beasley had entered the school with a firearm. When officers arrived, Beasley refused to hand over her bag containing the gun, leading police to handcuff her in order to confiscate the loaded 9mm handgun. Despite Beasley’s claims of informing everyone about the weapon and doing so every day, her actions have led to serious legal consequences.

Common sense is gone ~ If I had a license for a concealed weapon I'd have that bad boy in a shoulder holster under my jacket and wouldn't let ANYBODY even friends know I carry. If somebody had a beef with her personally why would she put her child in harm's way, that won't help you on a drive by or somebody hiding in the woods, you or your child would be gone. Plus I'd be to busy protecting my child with my body to be digging in some purse. I just don't get the, in your purse thing either and telling security about the gun, doesn't make any sense unless you're so clueless that you don't know it's highly illegal to bring a gun on to school property, DUH
I don't know what's more bring a gun to the school or that she told everyone about it.
The most embarrassing thing is not being arrested outside your child's school, the most embarrassing thing is wearing a shower cap outside the home.
