COLD CASE INVESTIGATION: The search for 74-year-old Juil Matthews, who has been missing since October 9, 2006, is intensifying as search AWP focuses on 13 key locations throughout Franklin County, Mississippi.

Matthews, who suffers from mild Alzheimer’s and bipolar disorder, was last seen driving his red 1989 Mazda pickup truck. Despite extensive search efforts, when Matthews and his vehicle went missing, there has been no sighting in nearly 18 years.
Balding with hazel eyes, Juil stood between 6’ and 6’2’’ tall and weighed approximately 180 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He lived alone on Evans Road in Franklin County, Mississippi, after separating from his wife, who resided in Adams County. On the day of his disappearance, Matthews was believed to be traveling to visit his wife, a routine journey of about 42 miles.
Family members and law enforcement quickly initiated a search, covering the area by ground and air. Due to Matthews’ medical conditions, there was concern that he might have become disoriented and had an accident. Authorities speculated that Matthews could have driven into one of the lakes or ponds along his route. However, extensive searches of these bodies of water yielded no results.
In a renewed effort to locate Matthews, Adventures With Purpose, is utilizing advanced sonar technology to thoroughly examine various bodies of water near Matthews’ and his wife’s residences.
“We are committed to leaving no stone unturned in our search for Juil Matthews,” said Jared Leisek – AWP Founder. “This advanced technology allows us to re-examine locations with a precision that was not possible during earlier searches. Our goal is to bring answers to the Matthews family, who have been waiting for answers for far too long.”

The search effort is ongoing, and the community is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any information that may aid in locating Juil Matthews and his vehicle.
Despite the time that has passed, the search teams remain dedicated to resolving this case.

Ok so wife mentioned he went to an auction that day but not sure where. Investigate go to local in library or local paper and ask for archives the papers for the last 2 weeks leading up to thr day he went missing searching to see when and where possible auctions where taking place that weekend or week and go from there. Its your best bet 🙏👍❤️

What's interesting is so many who have been lost were found in a specific distance grid. That in itself is game changing for all, IDK if other groups involved in search and recovery do this also. If they don't they should. It does help narrow down locations to look.

He went missing on my birthday. Those cases always hit me hard when I hear about them — like, I'm over here celebrating and they're going through whatever events brought them to this. Really hits home that people I don't and will never know are going through their own stuff.
