Opening statements in the hot car child death murder trial began Tuesday morning. Rita Pangalangan is accused of purposefully leaving her daughter in a hot car to die — allegedly checking on the car every few hours. “The child’s brain gave up, the organs gave up, she had blisters all over her body and she died in the back seat of that car,” prosecutor Duffie Stone said. “When temperatures reach that high, kids — they are tortured and they are cooked to death.”

This would've been labelled as "Honour Killing" if this happened in an immigrant community from Middle East or some South Asian countries as there is alot of disablism in these cultures too.

No excuse those. I wish she would of surrendered the child somehow and admitted she had a problem. Not sure what resources look like over there. But this is the darkness of denial.
She probably hoped something would indeed happen to the child secretly and blame it on forgetfulness….well it did, and the circumstances are different. Meth use, and wanting to have ME time….alone together without the daughter.
