  1. An honest mistake, and he was honest enough to admit that he had the wrong person and released him and did not make up any charges. For a US police officer I reckon that is exceptional and I would categorize this cop as one of the better cops. Shifting the blame to the dispatcher is an attempt to safe face.

  2. The bar is not set by the courts, the bar is set by the constitution, it's the attorneys that accept the bar being set by courts and not the constitution, if the constitution is the supreme law, no law or case law existing at that time that the constitution still exist, may vary from the constitution. being falsely arrested, contradicts non degradable freedoms and rights afforded to citizens by the constitution. a judge being a statute his law should know the expectations of the supreme law of a country, a so should the attorney`s.

  3. Why cant the cops run this stuff themselves. They have all these expensive cars decked out with everything but they cant run a id or just investigate people by talking to them.

  4. So they search a innocent person if they had found anything suspicious they would have charged him with something, just to cover up their mess. How many times are they going to arrest people or ruin houses by swat going to the wrong place

  5. So the officer is told the name and DOB gor the person with the warrent amd doesn't bother to look at the ID he literally has in his hamd to confirm that all then information is the same? Isnt that negligence? Then says that dispatch comfirmed the wrong person even though they gave him correct information he was just too lazy to do his job and check.

  6. Wait this man was attested for doing nothing wrong! Again clowns and a circus for a police department. He takes no accountability for his what he did! Blames everyone and yet it was his own fault not dispatch, not anyone else just his blatant stupidity!

  7. Completely off-topic, but if you watch from 13:50 and go a few more seconds, the Circle K gas and diesel prices increase by ten cents each. Just thought it was funny to see that happen.

On-topic – the cop isn't really being honest. He screwed up and blamed dispatch.

  8. If I make a mistake, I have to answer for it. The people in a gang with guns pointed at us, don't have to answer for their mistakes? Why are they treated like idiot children that don't need corrected? Can't we expect more out of them? They really have no shame in taking the "I'm just a cop, what do you expect from me?" defense? Pathetic.

  9. This man never should have been dragged off to the police station in the first place, if officer Half-Wit had done his job correctly from the start! And to think these Half-Wits make more money than me! 🙄

  10. I retired as a Patrol Sgt in Houston, TX in 2012. But as I recall, we were supposed to detain and transport the Suspect until we confirmed their ID with AFIS. If their prints showed that they were the wrong person, we were supposed to apologize, release them, give them our info, and offer to take them back to the original location, or another place of their choosing, whichever was closest.
