A federal lawsuit was filed in Atlanta, where body cam footage shows Clayton County Police Officer Gregory Tillman breaking down a woman’s door after she refused to give a chess set back to a man who had moved out. All of this happened in front of the woman’s son.
According to news reports, this involved her friend’s ex-boyfriend, who showed up claiming that he had left some items there, including a remote control and a chess set. He called 911 after she refused to let him inside her home.

It sounds like a violent assault.
Three day suspension-classic. QI needs to be ended now
Sue city and bad cop for big $$$
Criminals in uniform, acting under color of law MUST be held accountable!
When the officer broke through the door, the woman would have been in her rights to shoot him. This Officer Tillman should never be a law enforcement officer in the future.
Pay monsters
every time cops break the law like this they need to be charged and given the max sentence because they are police and should know better
usually when someone forcefully enters a home without consent, its called a home invasion!
"3 day suspension" = "3 day paid vacation".
I remember as a kid in school hearing that this type of abuse was the reason why the US government was invading a new country every week. Turns out, OUR government is no different, and maybe even worse.
What? I don't understand is if you're in fear of what possibly could be behind the door why would you force entry? Buy yourself
To me That totally disclaims what you're saying.
That is one lucky cop he would have died if that homeowner was armed and fearing for her safety.
Thank you for your work.
FTP
She should’ve fired couple of shots for break in and entering
Why do you Yanks call someone you dont even know Sir? The title Sir must be earned!
How anyone can fly a blue line gang flag is beyond me
Is there a civil rights lawsuit on this case? Seems pretty clear.
Nobody creates this big of a fuss over a remote and a chess set.
There's more to this story.
If anyone of us did something illegal at our work and someone got hurt, we would be fired immediately on the spot. Reform the police.
DUDE, as soon as a person tells an officer that they were living there it becomes a civil case and the officer has NO jurisdiction over it. He should have just told the guy that it is a civil matter and he will have to take her to court for his belonging.
>>>End Qualified Immunity AND Judicial immunity<<< Nobody, NO Human, should be above the law.
Any update???
So let's say I'm just coming home and I'm about to go inside my house when, just as I'm shutting the door, a man (not a police officer) breaks down my door to follow me in. Am I allowed to shoot that man, in that scenario?
If so, would she not have been allowed to shoot that officer for breaking into her house? If the entrance is unlawful, that means it's trespassing, and trespassers can be shot in many jurisdictions.
Wouldn't breaking in someone home and handcuffing them be some kind of attempt kidnapping?
qualified immunity IS NOT A LAW, it is a court decision that the supreme court is too scared to overturn!!!! it NEVER went to Congress or anywhere else and needs to be struck down. we the people had no say!!!
they WILL NOT learn till we take THEIR MONEY AND FREEDOM!!!! the taxpayers should not be paying for blatant stupidity. you cant train stupid.
Any Police Department that would give him a job would be stupid because they're just looking for a lawsuit that is the most dumbest thing I've ever heard of any cop in the right mind knows you don't bust down a door without a search warrant I hope she's Sue for a few million dollars I hope he does not get his immunity and I hope she goes after the police department and the city cuz all of it is wrong he should be fired immediately!!!
is this STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR CLAYTON COUNTY POLICE OFFICERS ? CLAYTON COUNTY POLICE DO NOT NEED A SEARCH WARRANT TO SMASH DONE YOUR FRONT DOOR . CLAYTON COUNTY POLICE OFFICERS KNOW THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW
a simalar thing happened to a kid in my neighborhood when i was young, except the kid who didn;t like his mom being roughed up by the cop so he came downstairs with a baseball bat and smashed the cops head in, it literraly smashed his head in, the cop needs round the clock care he has severe brain damage, can,t even feed himself. the kid went to juvenile jail.
Back when I went through the Police Academy, donuts used to be square…they later made them round for "Officer Safety".
