Don't support most officers but this cop was trying to be nice and granted he chose the hood but I wouldn't feel sorry if he used all 3 mags into this guy and I can't believe he only got 5 years, I figured atleast 25 years to life. Wow.
I would say respect for that cop, yeah sure he made a mistake in the first place, but at least he didn't try to amend his mistake by making a second mistake and shooting that guy. They killed Takiya Young for less than that a year ago.

This IS an example of police training. They are trained that the have NO duty to retreat from a situation, that they MUST control every situation. This means even if in doing so thay put themselves in a dangerous position… Because they can never be wrong.

Then if he jumps on the hood and they take off he could get away with shooting them if they started driving with him on the hood.
