Cop TAUNTS Father of Guy They Shot | Placed on Leave – Everything Law and Order Blog

In Paris, Texas, a police officer with the Paris Police Department – Officer Derek Belcher – was caught on video, including his own body cam, taunting the father of a young man who was shot by police several months earlier. The father was upset that his suicidal son was shot in the back by police officers, resulting in paralyzation. Apparently, the father had been expressing his displeasure with the Paris Police Department, including by “flipping” them off, which as I’ve discussed in prior videos, is a constitutionally protected activity under the First Amendment. Following the release of the footage, Officer Belcher was placed on administrative leave.

  1. That cop should say, “I’m sorry it went down the way it did, sir. I feel for you. I really do. And I understand you angry towards me. I will leave to de escalate.” But instead we get a cop that wants to argue and treat a grieving father like an asshole.

  2. In germany when a police officer rests his hand on his gun like this dumbwit did, the possebility that the police officer will face serious consequences are very high as such a posture can and most properly will be interpretated as a threat! This police officer is a typical representation of how police officers of the US are seen, and this police officer would be regarded as one of the better police officers. What this looks like to me is that this police officer was clearly attempting to provoke this father into making a false move so that he could either arrest him or more likely shoot and kill him. This is the typival image US police officers have over here!

  3. When I was a kid(13/14), we had a state trooper that acted a lot like the cop in this video. Most of the local cops wanted nothing to do with him when he was out on a traffic stop because of his attitude when dealing with ppl. He wasn't from the area but a majority of them grew up, still lived & had family in the area.

This trooper got into a car chase & the car lured him down some backroads & out into the "boonies" straight into an ambush. Who ever it was shot that squad to "hell in a handbasket." By the time his backup finally managed to find him, the squad was riddled w/bullets. He retired not to long after that. I worked w/his ex-wife years later, she said he moved back to his hometown and was working as a loading dock supervisor while studying to become a minister. 🤷🏾‍♂️

  4. That cop wants to fight its just us. As stands there with his hand on his gun to afraid to take his badge and gun off. And these are the p_says they hire easy to run your mouth when you got your shit on to hide behind. What a coward

  5. Why would a cop 👮 be rude and act like that guy did to him The cop 👮 should have took the high road, but of course they want to show their true colors, all I want to say is how would you feel if it was your family sad how the cop 👮 was roofless

  6. Texas is one of only two states that allow mutual combat as a defense to assault charges. Mutual combat is defined as a physical altercation where all parties involved willingly participate. This can include consensual fights, mutual provocation, spontaneous conflicts, or recreational activities.

  7. This POS cop should be immediately fired. There was NO reason whatsoever for him to stand there and engage with this guy, egging him on at times to "do something about it". And then to add salt to the wound, he says "tell your son we said hi". This egomaniac was completely unprofessional and engaged in threatening behavior under color of law.
