  1. So when you don’t resist you do as told it is legal to use brutal force to unlawfully direct citizens. Not cool bad judge tyrant cop

  2. imagine the actions of the fascist blue boys if there were no cameras. these videos always make me wonder why police are getting shot at in much greater numbers than they currently are.

  3. You go to school everyday. And every day at school this kid bullies you. He bullies you, and bullies and bullies and bullies you. And so one day you get fed up, and you start giving it right back to him. Suddenly, people come out of the woodwork and say hey hey hey it's going too far. It wasn't going too far when the bully was being a bully, but it suddenly gone too far when you fight back against the bully .

And that's what qualified immunity is.

  4. But it was the choice of the cop not the defendant to pursue the argument and remove himself from the scene. No where in the defendant speech or actions did he tell or motion cop off his scene, it was the cops unprofessional conduct that he chose to continue to pursue his iggo instead of his job.

  5. The city of Santa Paula agreed to pay $325,000 to settle a federal lawsuit brought by a retired firefighter who claimed he was assaulted by a Santa Paula police officer in 2020.

The settlement includes a confidentiality clause that prohibits the city and the other parties from discussing the payment or even acknowledging its existence. But legal settlements by government agencies are covered by the California Public Records Act, and the settlement was provided to the Star by Santa Paula on Tuesday, in response to a public records request.

The $325,000 payment will not come out of the city budget; it is covered by the city's insurance cooperative, City Manager Dan Singer said in mid-August, before the terms of the settlement were disclosed.

  6. The police officers are not gonna check for the victim then I’m gonna see if he needs any help. They’re more concerned about the citizen helping the victim.

  7. I don't really agree with this assessment. While Mr. Garces did assist in saving the victim, he became immediately hostile with Rivera. Being a firefighter, he should have known better and should have conducted himself professionally and simply explained in a calm voice that he was a witness. I would give him a C+. I also wouldn't have given the Officer an F, because he was diligently trying to assess and secure the crime scene, and had to deal with Mr. Garces' loud and belligerent behavior. I would also give Rivera a C+.
