This exact thing happend to me years ago. When it rained the phone system shorted out and dialed 911. I also did not have a landline. The cops sneaked up on my house at 3am. I let them in after almost shooting them. They parked in my driveway with no lights and proceeded to sneak around the property shining their flashlights into the windows. Never did ring the bell or knock. They looked around the house and found I was living alone without a cat (They claimed my cat dialed 911 – not a cat person). The next day I called their supervisor and told him how I almost shot his officers because they were sneaking around the property. He said he would talk to them and he also called the phone company and had the line fixed
