  1. DETAILS/Case Documents: https://thecivilrightslawyer.com/2025/01/07/cops-mistakenly-send-k9-to-attack-innocent-sleeping-man/
Derrick Williams was fast asleep in the apartment he had been living in for about a month (which was leased by a friend/Uncle) when he heard a commotion outside his bedroom. It was the Chesterfield County (Virginia) Police Department, who had just opened the front door and sent in a police K9 to find him and violently attack him. But it was a mistake. He had done nothing wrong. His friend/Uncle's ex-girlfriend had come by earlier to collect some belongings, saw him asleep in the apartment, and called 911, believing he was an intruder of some sort. Instead of realizing that Derrick was not an intruder, they just went full send with their attack K9, to bite first, and ask questions later. Now a lawsuit has been filed. But the cops are asking for qualified immunity, claiming they did nothing wrong.

  2. Now see this is a good example of why I think dogs should no longer be used in the police force, they are used WAY to much and they are way to unpredictable and they do not listen, with all the technology these cops have at their disposal these days, the government really has no business still using K9's, I don't think they should even be able to use K9's on like a traffic stop because a lot of these officers just watch the dog and any little movement the dog makes the officer then goes "oh he is showing me signs that there may be drugs in the car!" when all the dog did was just do regular dog stuff, it would be acceptable to use K9's in EXTREMLY rare situations like bomb sniffing or drug sniffing at like a border but not an everyday police officer, that is just so unbelievably asinine. also one thing I think should happen is IF they use a dog to sniff a car on a traffic stop ( these dogs are used to "legally" get around the constitution ) and claim that the dog gave them the sign there is drugs in the car and then they search it and find NOTHING then there needs to be SEVERE consequences for all officers involved, I have seen to many times that an officer will do something and then that officer and other officers talk about it for like 20 minutes to decide what to "charge" the person with and make sure they all get their stories straight, which is BS I also believe that officers should not have control over their camera, it should ALWAYS be recording and when they turn the camera in someone else OTHER than that officer should be in charge of pulling the footage off the device and it should go to an offsite server that none of the officers has the ability to erase or modify the footage. OH! also we need to get Qualified Immunity to be abolished, see how NONE of those officers were concerned about the mistake they made? its because they know nothing is going to happen to them ( because most of the time it is kind of rare that they see any meaningful consequences

  3. Sorry I don't think he has a case against the cops. Against the ex girlfriend absolutely. It sounds like she was there when the cops arrived and if she still had ID showing she lives there the cops could not assume anything she said is not true. Sue the girl not the cops.

  4. This is what I heard. “Lease kay-9, speaktahme now, Lisa dog. Yall fine ah get bit”. I’d be like, what the heck is happening out there? Hell no, I’m not going out there! There’s a drunk burglar at my door!

  5. Since the canine is considered an officer of the law, wouldn’t there be a ton of violations committed by a police officer. Excessive force, actions unbecoming an officer, failure to identify (unless the dogs names is Ruff), etc.

  6. It seemed to mean that the District Attorneys nationwide are no damn good. "They support all civil rights violations and police excessive force" means that a group or individual is actively condoning any actions by law enforcement that infringe on citizens' civil rights, including the use of excessive force, essentially advocating for a disregard of basic human rights and legal protections Civil rights violations:

This refers to actions by authorities that infringe on fundamental rights guaranteed by law, like freedom of speech, religion, assembly, and equal protection under the law, often impacting marginalized groups.

    Excessive force:

This means using more physical force than is reasonably necessary to detain or control a person during a police encounter, which is considered a violation of the law. Hey evil Hypocrites this is for you Galatians 6:7 says, "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked, a man reaps what he sows.". This verse essentially means that people will experience the consequences of their actions, and that God cannot be fooled by attempts to live a sinful life while expecting positive outcomes.

    Key points from the verse:

"Do not be deceived": Don't be misled or fooled into thinking you can escape the consequences of your choices.

"God cannot be mocked": Trying to deceive God about your actions is futile.

"A man reaps what he sows": This is a metaphor for the idea that the actions you take will have natural results, good or bad.

  7. So apparently Anyone can call and say a burglary is Happening at any address and there is a burglary and cops are justified to unleash a vicious k9 into whatever address anyone wants. Boy, this sure seems like swatting to me.

  8. What's crazy is if one of our dogs did that to a cop they can shoot it and the cop be fine(Hell cops murder innocent dogs for barking) but if a cop dog attacks us and WE do that, we get charged with murdering a cop. This is animal abuse!! I do not condone harming animals in any way. You see my point though.

  9. Imagine being dead asleep in REM then loosely hearing from across your apartment "Poice Kn, Speak to me now, ileasee doog, dog fiindssyu bebbit". He literally said gibberish, no way anyone understands what he is saying coming into that apartment.

  10. Belgian Malinois are Psycho and even a psycho cop knows better than to try to introduce that animal to a family. Like with them, it usually ends in someone's suicide, death, or tragedy. They were bred and trained for war. This is not war.

  11. police need to be retrained and they should never be permitted to use force or violence unless force or violence is being used against them first, ever, because they've proven to be absolutely irresponsible with the power they are given.
