Bodycam footage shows the moments surrounding a deadly shooting in California on August 13. The Los Angeles Police Department said officers caught Olban Perdomo allegedly trying to steal a car when they confronted him. The 25-year-old was shot by police when he pointed at gun at officers after their repeated attempts to use non-lethal force. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie has the details.

I lived in LA for a couple of years …i would have thought knowing how to give commands in spanish for a patrol officer would almost be mandatory.

We need better ways to subdue a suspect and better less lethal tools for law enforcement. Using lethal weapons with less lethal ammo seems to only escalate these situations. There has to be a better way right?
That first officer on the scene was so calm, really good at delegating. Great Job LAPD! We who live out here know how bad 77th is, how dangerous it is to work out there. Officers everyday, have to deal with suspects who only care of themselves, putting lives at risk. 💙Back the Blue💙
