Is it unconstitutional for cops to point guns at innocent people they pull over due to a mistaken belief that a car is stolen?

  1. I live in Japan, if Japanese police did that to a family, the entire police department would be on national television publically bowing and grovelling in front of rhe family begging for forgiveness. Thats why it never happens here. Japanese people don't put up with that s***.

  2. I am 70 yo and i have never had a positive interaction with any blue line gang member. I to my shame did call them once because my house was broken into and valuables stolen. They did not even care or come out.

  3. Counselor, why haven't anyone filed a class action suit for this particular reason? They should be sued for conspiracy to deprive citizens of their civil rights and constitutional rights by initiating "policy" in lieu of law? This really could be considered class action status because all police departments employ these same tactics to deprive citizens of their rights in the name of officer safety. Definitely a pattern and practice claim.

  4. Had about ten of them pull guns on me during a stop—because someone had called in and said I had a gun in my car. My passenger had a huge, PINK water gun.

They got me out, cuffed me, threw me on the hood of one of their cars, put a gun directly against the base of my skull…before figuring out their “mistake.”

When they let me get back in my car, one of them put his hand on my shoulder and said “at least you’ve got a good story to tell.”

  5. Very rare circumstances lier i see hundreds of videos of out of control cops killing beating harassing threatening just flat out breaking the law like this video coos are out of control

  7. The term “to protect and serve“ is no longer For the general public rather, the police protect themselves and serve themselves. This often includes the prosecutors and judges, as it’s all wound in one big, huge money making business. I’m not saying that we don’t need all three of these the police, prosecutors, and judges, what I’m saying is that the good cops are a few and far between. Politicians have written so many laws that you can’t go through life without breaking the law. It’s impossible and they know it.

  8. When cops stop a vehicle based on premises that the vehicle is stolen, it is always a high-risk/felony stop. Therefore, they will unholster their firearms and give loud verbal commands. This is a huge issue. They don't know who they are dealing with. At that point in time (beginning of the traffic stop), ANYONE can say "you have the wrong car", "my family is in there." You know how many times perps lie?

Let's entertain that notion for a second and say the Officer immediately stops what he/she is doing and just casually walks up to the perp. They let their guard down and a shooting occurs. And then you same people come here and criticize them for taking the word of a perp at face value. You would probably say: "What a stupid cop, conducting a felony stop and just casually walking up to them."

If the error is, in fact, clerical. If it was an honest mistake. Then Law Enforcement is covered by the Good Faith Doctrine. As long as the actions were not intentional, Law Enforcement Professionals are – and should be – absolutely covered.

And before anyone here says crap like: "end qualified immunity", "tyrants need to be held accountable", just know that every profession that is high-risk and deals with people have that sort of protection. Judges have them. Prosecutors have them. Doctors and nurses have malpractice insurance. Do you know how many people are incorrectly sentenced, incorrectly prosecuted, die on a surgery table, are given wrong medication? These mistakes happen anywhere, in any profession. Stop trying to demonize Police actions, when none of you have ever worn a uniform a day in your life.

Go be a cop for one day and conduct one of these felony stops and just "casually" walk up to the car. I guarantee you'll get your head blown up before your probationary period ends.

When you need help, you call who? The Cops. Such hyprocrites.

  9. There was a home owner who opened the door late one night with a gun and he was shot dead by a cop who knocked on the wrong door in appartment. The cop was fired but the man remained dead. Some midstakes you can not undo.

  10. The sad truth the cops cant figure out by looking at whoever is in the car doesn't look like a criminal. Once again they are unable to be rationalize. They just follow their steps/ their so called policies 😢
