Bodycam showing the inside of Dr. Amie Harwick’s home after she was murdered was played in court Thursday. The footage shows officers going from room to room clearing the scene, until they ultimately find Harwick’s body underneath her third-floor balcony. Harwick’s ex-boyfriend — Gareth Pursehouse — is accused of breaking into her home, waiting for her to arrive, strangling her, then throwing her body over her bedroom’s balcony.

  1. Man, why do cops always sound like this. “You are making it worse.” Its the same as “stop resisting “. They always use these veiled threats when they are scared for nothing.

  2. What is wrong with the 9-1-1 operators and first responders? Is it just me or does it seem like every one of them either has an attitude or lack of compassion/urgency? This poor guy was only trying to get help!

  3. I thought the responding cops were being a bit harsh with the roommate. Of course, he was panicked, who wouldn't be? I bet he felt some guilt for not being able to stop the assault or get to Amie quicker. There was no reason for the cops to treat him that way or yell at him & tell him he was making things worse.

  4. It's so strange that everyone's riding the cops. They are doing the job – securing the scene and assessing WTF is going on at a murder scene. The "housemate" could be the perpetrator or hiding someone upstairs. I could never be a cop but if sign up, go through training, perform a job that includes life and death situations, then critique random pieces of video.

  5. I’ve had police officers discount me in a situation, letting a thief get away. It’s very frustrating that they trust no one, even victims. I’m sure they get hardened over time, but I wish they’d learn that it doesn’t serve to be that way. Maybe these officers will figure it out after watching themselves after the fact.
