  1. I understand that due to the new laws of overcrowded prisons, now they release inmates, BUT why on earth not release inmates out of low security facilities who has grander opportunities to rehabilitation and to integrate back into the society, to actually be able to live a “normal” life..?! Why let high level of sex offenders back on streets? They are mentally already damaged and will find ways to reproduce their actions? It’s an mental addiction.

  2. how are sex offenders on county probation? i'd like to think a sex offense would automatically be a state prison term which would put the offender under the supervision of a parole agent. unless probation monitors offenders indefinitely after they finish their prison sentence?

  3. Almost none of these guys are actually armed in LA county though. I think less than 10% are actually authorized to be armed. Most other counties have all of their probation officers armed when on duty and are authorized to carry off duty. I would never do this job unarmed especially in LA.
