  1. This is a very sad situation, however I wouldn’t call it an accident. They purposely got on the boat, they were purposely drinking, and they purposely didn’t wear life jackets. This wasn’t their first time on the boats. Unfortunately everyone on those boats made those choices. And that’s exactly what it was a choice.

  2. I literally grew up on and around this lake in the 80's and 90's.. There once was a hugely popular location called "Banana Bay". We knew it as Bloody Bay… Until lake Loser-ville (Lewisville) took over as the deadliest lake in Texas title, Conroe was definitely the one.. No idea currently.. I grew up swimming in Cypress Creek and thinking Galveston was what a beach was… I don't stick anything of mine in any body of water around Houston, or anything to the East of Lake Travis until I get to Pensacola..

  3. I have lived on Lake Conroe and have been a resident of Montgomery County, TX for 45 years. This lake is over 21,000 acres and it is extremely busy most of the year. It has been called the deadliest lake in Texas for decades. We happen to have exceptional emergency service personnel that are all too familiar with tragedies like this. Yes, this was a “quick” recovery of this beautiful young lady but this isn’t always the case, unfortunately.

  4. My cousin died in a boating accident (drinking involved) when the driver hit a sandbar throwing my cousin into the cabin smacking his head on the threshold killing him. Boats also don’t have seatbelts so in cases where a life jacket wouldn’t have mattered, a seat restraint may have. Sad case.
