17. The crime was allegedly committed on a US flagged vessel at least in part in international waters which means U.S. law applies in addition to the laws of Grenada (where the pirates seized the vessel) and St. Vincent and the Grenadines hwhere the vessel and the suspects were later found).

OMG…This reminds me of the murders of Tom & Jackie Hawkes, the retired couple who were hijacked on their yacht, which was for sale, by people pretending to be interested buyers then bound to each other by rope and thrown overboard with the anchor ALIVE, while begging for their lives, into the deepest part of the ocean. To this day, I can't get their story out of my head. I suspect the same fate has befallen this couple. OMG.
