On the first day of trial, shocking video footage was played for the jury of the moment teenagers were stabbed after allegedly taunting accused killer Nicolae Miu. Miu, 54, is accused of stabbing a teenager to death, and injuring four others, while tubing on the Apple River in Wisconsin back in July of 2022. Isaac Schuman, 17, was killed and Rhyley Mattison, 24, suffered severe stab wounds. Miu is facing multiple charges including first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree homicide, and battery with a dangerous weapon. Miu claims he acted in self-defense.

The young people should be ashamed. They harassed the man, accused him of things, insulted him. The young people have their friend on their conscience. How broken must these young people be to insult and harass an older man like that in a group. Should show everyone, let people live their lives in peace, how bored you have to be on a river on a sunny day. You children have ruined your own day. All I saw in the entire video were those teens taunting and pushing several of them literally hit that man pushed him down laughing at him.

Both sides made was responsible, but ultimately a 17 yr dead, 4 other got stabbed. It's definitely guilty and jury didn't found him guilty of the most serious charge. It's justice.

Just so concerning this many people do not understand when something is self defense and when it is not. Nicolae Miu is not mentally well, and is clearly a killer. He is the one that approached them. He is the one who pulled a knife. Thankfully he’s been found guilty of reckless homicide.

regardless of being “taunted” it’s still his responsibility to walk away. Defendant couldn’t swallow his pride and walk away from a group of teenagers that he believed he was better/stronger/wiser than. Miu spawned that knife out of nowhere. It was hard to see unless you were looking for it. I’m convinced Miu went back to his group and his stuff and got his knife, and then returned to the group determined to “defend himself” in the case of an altercation.
