21. Why one kid gets targeted over another? Based on Family Systems Theory, there are 6 main roles assigned to children in a dysfunctional family. They include: Hero, Scapegoat, Mascot, Enabler/Caretaker, Lost Child and Golden child. The point is no one is equal within the family dynamic. The parents assign the roles consciously or subconsciously. The labels create a system of abuse. Some more extreme than others and evolving. Raising children to some people is all about feeding their ego. Children are expensive to raise. Not sure i buy into the reason they raise children is for the money.
