A California teacher arrested in October 2023 is no longer facing child endangerment charges. Wendy Munson, then 57, had a BAC of more than twice the legal limit while teaching at Nuestro Elementary School. However, the district attorney’s office determined that her intoxication technically wasn’t illegal. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber analyzes the case with California public defender Philip Dubé.

  1. My drivers ed teacher was drinking booze out of a coffee mug when I was in high school. Luckily we drove, he didn’t.

  2. The DA is correct. It's not a crime. Look at all the teachers who abuse children. It has nothing to do with them having an alcohol problem

  3. I’m with Jesse on this. That doesn’t make any sense, she’s in public no matter where you’re at! The whole planet is public you cumquats! Geez! That state is no longer my vacation spot no more.

  4. You are in ‘public’ if you’re outside of your own house and speaking to kids and teachers like, “Nope, she’s totally fine! There’s nothing wrong here!” How drunk is the police department of Cali for coming up with such false nonsense!? She’s endangering the young kids from learning anything! That BS! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

  5. HEAD-UP– YES SHE IS STILL GUNNA TEACH AT NUESTRO!!- — THE PRINCIPAL HIRED HER BACK!!- I I CHECKED!!- JUST BECAUSE ITS NOT ON RECORD!!- THEY HAVE SWEPT IT UNDER THE RUG!!!- SMSHHHHHHH!!!!!

  6. I wonder if she's an alcoholic to the point that she can't go too long without it. It's likely she's been doing this for a long time and just finally get caught.
She shouldn't be teaching, but I also hope she gets the help she needs and doesn't sink deeper into addiction. Despite charges being dropped, her life is ruined.

  7. I had a teacher that was drunk every day ,kept it in a little room off to the back of room but, after I graduated and some years later i went to the grocery store and he was working there bagging groceries, also divorced, which I do admit I felt sorry for him

  8. That's ridiculous. What about if there's an emergency like a shooting going on?And she needs to run or save the children. She's not gonna be able to do it because she is drunk the most stupidest thing I have ever heard

  9. Only someone with the severe drinking problem is going to drink at work. It does not sound fun at all to be drunk at work……actually it would sounds like a nightmare.
