In this week’s podcast: Local Michigan singer Egypt Covington was found tied up with Christmas lights and shot in the back of the head in June 2017, and her killer eluded capture for years. An Ohio man was arrested last week and charged with Covington’s murder (4:14). Plus, a 54-year-old Florida businessman was arrested 300 miles away from where his 18-year-old girlfriend was shot dead in a hotel room in an incident he called a “play gunfight” (26:36). Joining host Ana Garcia is private investigator, author and former homicide detective Danny Smith.

  1. "My six year old son was supposed to be watching my loaded gun for me officer".

Intro to the cell block tango begins

  2. You might not like it but in my opinion it was Curtis! And I believe he probably texted back and forth between the two phones at midnight she was probably dead before that

  3. It’s Salt Life, not Salt Line- the clothing line the guy in Florida helped to create. I only know this because I live in Florida and it’s big down here. 🥺 so sad.

  4. Wide Road vs Narrow Path. We're out numbered, but it is what it's. Recognize….it's hard to read the ♥️ but we must try thru scripture Not leaning on our own understanding…so pray for that wisdom. Only God can read the ♥️ but actions speak louder in humans. Becareful.

  5. Wow Ana, blue is really your color👌You really look amazing. Thanks for providing us all with bing worthy content! Your passion really shows in every case you cover.

  6. I remember the case with Egypt. They were blaming her ex. Well, only the mother didn't believe that it was her ex, and her other family members were upset with the mom. I am glad that they arrested that criminal. I am also glad that it wasn't the ex. Poor guy reputation mash-up. See why it's not good to point fingers at people without actual proof.

  7. Thats funny anba u think he looks like a washed up surfer i thouggt he looked like a drunk /druggie old perverted man!!! Maybe bc u knew his background i hadent heard spicifics yet!!

  8. i dont think the website is appropriate for the detective lol, I aint typing that website in my browser good grief lol..

  9. This salt life case the parents are friends with my son's grandparents and her poor daddy has just crumbled bc of this. Both of them, of course. Very heartbreaking.

  10. Egypt's father lived long in my memory, as did his beautiful daughter (I'll never forget him relating how his wife had to hide his gun from him because he wanted to storm into the world looking for answers!). So glad that justice is finally approaching 💐

  11. I think that felony murder is murder committed during the course of another felony…ie a bank robbery or a home invasion…it’s like a combination of the 2 crimes. Then regular murder is just murder committed by itself, like if someone just shoots and kills you as they pass you on the street or if people live together and one of them just kills another…no other crime – or no other felony crime – is occurring at the same time. The details and degrees and statutes might vary from state to state, but I’m pretty sure that’s the basic idea.

  12. I'm sure his money played a big part in the charges because are you trying to tell me that if he had been a black guy with no money at all and a public defender the charges would not have been totally different

  13. And Egypt's killer clearly didn't know her. If he had he would have known she was a sweetheart and didn't deserve that, but does anybody else think his mugshot looks familiar? I swear I've seen him before.

  14. I find it odd, salt life was started by 4 guys. But only lists Hutton as the co founder. I dont like when people prop up 1 out of a group and then he turns out to be a murderer. You can't find j/s on the other co founders. There's usually very sinister reasons behind that. I probably shouldn't have posted this. But what do I know?!?

  15. Idk why I thought this was a update on the girl with platinum blonde hair that was living with her bfs and his new gf, but left with some guys and found dead later. They thought the bf did it, but they found a Sprite bottle in the back seat with her DNA on it. If anybody knows what I'm talking about, help me out….surely they caught them by now.

  16. So if I want to get rid of someone I just kill the anywhere as long is no one else is around. Then I tell the police any story I come with and believe me?…I read about brothers that murdered a woman and they couldn’t find the body so they told the police it was self-defense. The cops said they don’t know how she died because they didn’t have the body…. so they took them at their word! So again if I kill someone and hide them I can get away with it! Sounds like a crime in Australia or England!
