A former school resource officer has accepted a plea deal after being accused of sexual misconduct with more than one student at a South Carolina high school. Jamel Bradley was caught with a student in a Target parking lot by a captain with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in 2015. In 2018, another student claimed he picked her up at her home and drove to a private area before assaulting her. Bradley avoided spending up to 15 years in prison by pleading guilty to assault and battery, and sexual battery of a student. Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie breaks it down.

If the victims are satisfied, it seems to be a fine sentence to me. At the age of 15+ girls my age were flirting with the gym teacher, the coaches, or teachers, without regard for what it might lead to. While those kinds of relationships are not appropriate, human beings are doing what they want to do at that age. 16 is the age of consent in my state, so the idea of a relationship like that is not shocking. Basically, he plead guilty because it was technically inappropriate to use his position at the school to do what he was doing. If he had a different job, in my state, he would be just fine to have a relationship with a consenting 17 year old, or a 16 year old for that matter. So, the sentence is because of his "role," and the job he held at the time while doing that. If he was a garbage man, no one could say anything about it. That's why the sentence is so light.
Shame on that prosecutor 😅😅 how does he get probation but people with cases that are victimless crimes are rotting away behind bars 😅😅😅
