Hypothetically, the US government could have prevented the unfortunate crimes he did. If the US government had won the Vietnam War, then he wouldn't have been conceived.
why is he in jail?
awww, what a shame…seems like such a bright guy..I wonder if he can receive mail…sometimes we go far off our path and find it impossible to turn back…i'd like to write to him
If you love your kids you should teach him not to break the law , it’s simple . You do the crime ! You do the time !
Are we supposed to fee SORRY???????????
I saw the video they made of their escape. It wasn't smart but they didn't go on a murderous rampage. The media and police have no shame. Q
Life is all about choices. I think it starts at home.
If they lived anywhere else than that shit hole California, he probably had met better friends and lived a better life.
That's Lil downer from trg. U wanna play? Got pay
Heartbreaking
The decision that a young man makes shapes him for the rest of his natural born life . The bad influence. It’s sad
The mom a former addict??
she kinda looks like one…
What they have done to this kid seems like total bullshit. You can kind of tell by looking at the kid's face [note: I know there is no science to this, but there is something about this kids face and eyes and his smile that gives me the impression that he is just a young kid who would just like to fit in – anywhere] — he doesn't seem that bad to me. He certainly doesn't come across to me as some kind of violent or dangerous criminal. I would also like to agree with what the sister said about the way they portrayed these 3 escapees on the news… I mean they really did make it seem like these guys were some very serious and exceedingly dangerous individuals, such that for a second there even I got concerned 100 miles away I thought omg they might drive through this part of the state.
When you see the video these guys made they come across much differently… especially the young kid Jonathon. They couldn't convict the kid the first time around — it was a hung jury or a mistrial. Many times a person is let out on bail when they are waiting for a second trial. It seems to me that he is being punished for the fact that they escaped. Just remember that when they escaped he was not a convicted person. So what if they escaped and had a little fun….he was just a kid — can you really blame the kid. By the way, escaping is something that people do when they figure they don't need to be there anymore – in a way it is a sign of his innocents, where those who are guilty may be more inclined to accept their fate and serve out their sentence. At the end of the day this kid has not been convicted of anything at the time this video was posted – I thought that here in the US we believe that people are innocent until proven guilty — what about that? It is now 2019 June – I'm not sure what has happened since. Putting someone in solitary confinement for so long would seem to amount to a violation of something. In many countries in the world this would not be allowed for more than a few hours if at all. The fact that this is occurring in Orange County, CA is just plain scary to me. It is fucking sickening quite frankly. Did you know that when the US first started the longest amount of time that a person could be kept locked up was like 6 months? It's true… granted, many people went to the gallows but still, I could see how the gallows may start to look good to a young person being put through this kind of well fuck it, lets call it by it's true name, "torture" — that's right, fucking torture going on right here in the USA, right in Orange County, and it is not some hardened sicko violent criminal that is doing the torturing — it is us, the people of the state of CA… we are all torturing a kid who went into the criminal justice system at age 14 or 15. If there is another side to this, I would sure like to know what it is. But even if there is another side to this, the kid is still entitled to Due Process — remember that one? Everyone should try reading the US Constitution and Bill of Rights… it is not a guideline or a list of suggestions — these are rights, and this kids rights are being violated. If I am wrong tell me why. It's when I see things like this that I really start to wonder. Why wasn't he tried as a juvenile in the first place? Even if he would have been convicted he would probably be out now. This kid still had a chance to do something with his life. After this torture he is going to have some problems down the road, They are going to wind up creating a monster where none existed to begin with, This is just sad. This is wrong. This is scary. There must be more to this. What am I missing? Tell me. I want to know.
Man stfu. Fuck that loser jailbird.
He is the criminals and dangerous. He may not be dangerous to you and to his family! Sad situations, but he is paying for his crimes!

But didn't he MURDER someone?
Orange County D. A. ''s are actually monsters. And very famous for it.
He was a minor when the victim was killed. I know him personally and his older brother also. He is a good kid and should be free especially after more then 15 people have already been convicted for the same crime while the real alleged person responsible is free in another country. Stay strong "L.D". I know that your innocence and hopefully you can be home with your family soon.
It's tough to find an actual detailed account of what exactly happened In Tieu's "murder"case, most of what you find is just scare tactics from the media about the escape saying he had been charged with attempted murder. From what I could dig up it sounds like he was 14/15 at the time and his brother and him were involved with some gang. Apparently the two of them and one more guy were all together when one of them (not Jonathan) shot and killed a man. It is unknown whether Jonathan knew exactly what was going to happen, and he did not have a weapon nor did he shoot anyone. His first hearing ended in a mistrial and he was supposed to be retried. He faces something like 85 to life if convicted. From what I could find on the case it sounds like a dumb kid caught up in a gang, at least partly due to influence from his older brother, going along with an incredibly dumb group decision at a YOUNG age. I see no reason for this kid to be locked up for the rest of his life. It isn't rehabilitating and it isn't keeping some monster out of society. For christ's sake, the kid has been waiting on a trial for YEARS. I also heard in a few interviews that the kid has been kept in solitary since the escape, that is straight up torture, and he is dealing with it because he embarrassed the prison and the sherriffs dept. Fucking crazy what passes for "justice" these days.
look, there criminals and there are kids making bad decisions… Jonathon is not a career criminal…
I was in jail with Jonathan we are the same age he did a bad crime but he has been in jail since he was like 16 or something from what I know we talked on a daily basis and he honestly was just a kid playing most the time… i felt sorry for him he just wanted to live some kind of life.
that boy gonna get buttjack in jail by felons again! kill somebody for gang joining ! loser I hope he get Life without parole
Haha pussy boy can’t do time I see a hard timer for sure
Wait…..you don’t understand why the news are reporting them to be dangerous… Are you so fuc***g ignorant? Let’s see, it might be because they were all in JAIL accused of dangerous crimes. Or maybe, just maybe, the fact that they escaped from jail. A menace to society from top to bottom.
Let’s drink some tea before we fight….
I went to continuation High School with him in Huntington Beach. I knew he was bad news then, but making him laugh in class a few times, I saw a decent person who just needed.. something…what, I do not know.
Uhhhh yeah your kid is dangerous thug….
This is so sad. ;(
Their grief is no greater than that of mothers of the victim. It's all sad. So, maybe if we all tried to obey the law, nobody's mother would feel this pain.
it's just a spark of insanity that ruin a young men life
