On Thursday, a New York appeals court overturned disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction in the landmark #MeToo trial. The appeals court found that the judge prejudiced Weinstein with improper rulings. “Today was a great day for Americans,” Harvey Weinstein’s defense attorney Arthur Aidala said exclusively on Law&Crime. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber and the ex-film mogul’s second attorney Imran Ansari also spoke on the shocking development.

  1. I'm glad it got overturned. Those women knew what they were getting into. Come on! They never heard about the casting couch?? That's a joke!

  2. So many people in the comments, and even Jessie seem to want it to be any time a woman yells “J’accuse!” the persons automatically guilty until proven innocent… it’s like they have no idea how our courts, laws and precedent work, nor lessons in history of why that’s a bad idea.

  3. You’re misleading your viewers by calling this a mere “technical error” and saying things like “it’s not like exonerating evidence came out”… you’re painting the picture it has nothing to do with his guilt or innocence, when it’s absolutely about how they went about proving his guilt. It plays to misconceptions about how courts work and presumption of innocence and found guilty vs found not guilty ect. I’d expect more from a legal channel analysis.

  4. “My friend justice Scalia” thats all he wanted to get out there. His ego makes it so he can’t help himself.

  5. As a subscriber and long time viewer I never expected law and crime to say they agreed with overturning Cosby or Weinsteins cases. I'm appalled. Where was this sentiment when everything was happening then? You're only brave enough now to say so? I'll find a new true crime channel, you're a drop in an ocean.

  6. "PHOTO: Actor J 0 H N N Y D E P P and H A R V E Y W E I N S T E I N attend Spike TV's "Don Rickles: One Night Only" on May 6, 2014 in New York City".

  7. I just don’t understand what is going on here. There should be certain administrative procedures that are excluded from overturning a conviction.

    There should be common sense

  8. The fact that one of the lawyers tries to present Harvey as the victim because 7 women spoke out against his actions in the case, turning it from "he said, she said" into "he said, she said (x7)" just shows the kind of mental gymnastics these people go through to justify their position. Appalling. [context: 06:13]

  9. I got it with Cosby and I didn’t want to. This one at the timing is sending the message they want it to. Women aren’t actually safe. Everyone was and is biased. Period. That’s an oh well, should have lived a quieter life if you didn’t want that.

  10. Well legal experts at that time always felt that the case was on shaky grounds.

Its the original judge and the prosecution fault that they broke some fundamental rules. They should have done everything by the books.

  11. Oh well going by the look of him, he’s going to have a nurse and carer to choose from in the future 😂😂😂😂😂

  12. cosby was guilty. WE ALL KNOW THAT. weinstein was guilty. WE ALL KNOW THAT. oj was guilty. WE KNEW THAT TOO. how is this justice???
