  1. Seems to me this boils down to, does a 911 call count as reasonable suspicion? I’m of the opinion of: no. If If someone calls the cops on you saying you have a gun and they show up and see you don’t have a gun, that should be the end of it. Needs to an official rule/law/whatever.

  2. This is north newark where there's a high Latino population, both citizen and public officials, so there's a lot of times where a black guy walking the streets is deemed suspicious. There's definitely a sense of "you don't belong here" in this part of town. Not saying this was the case here, but also not saying it isn't

  3. Standing half naked in the rain, visible bruises on my arm, just having required a paramedic for a possible concussion, only to discover my purse has been stolen, and surrounded by SIX Monterey County CA sheriffs blocking my egress, telling me I'M TYING THEIR HANDS.

    They STUDY intimidating us.

I was cold and dizzy. I crawled into my car, fully expecting them to drag me out. When I next opened my eyes, they were gone.

THEY KNOW THEY ARE WRONG. Stop enabling them by saying they're ignorant. THEY KNOW THEY'RE WRONG.

  4. I see this alot they pressure cops to get a name for their report. The government wants tabs on everyone. Most the time most officers would probably let the person go if their higher ups didnt require a name for the stop

  5. Refusing to identify is not a violation of the law in any state with reasonable articulable suspicion of a crime. All identification laws are contoured to Terry v Ohio. Furthermore, Mr. KB said after dispell the suspicion he was free to go and did not have to identify. I think you are thorough in youy evaluation you may have a little boot 👢 licker in you.

  6. The officers should get an F. The detention was illegal from the start. Not beating or illegally arresting an innocent person is not the appropriate bar for a passing grade.

  7. Someone else asked a VERY good question: is it ILLEGAL to openly carry a gun in that state?? If not, they had no reasonable, articulable suspicion of a crime, whether he matched the look of the "suspect" or not.

In addition, I have seen police LIE about people matching the look of a suspect. When police are constantly lying, how can we POSSIBLY know if there's reasonable, articulable suspicion of a person committing a crime when whether or not we identify is based on that? How is that at all reasonable?

  8. I have personally seen police lie about the subject "matching the listed identity" of the person they were looking for.

    – Their paperwork is NOT his problem. People DON'T HAVE TO IDENTIFY for their paperwork or procedure.
