For those who don’t know: section 1983 only allows money damages – not discipline or criminal prosecution. I’d love those powers though, if you want to pitch that to your local congressman. The officers were disciplined and are now under FBI investigation, apparently. The SEU was also disbanded permanently after release of the video.
I wish I had followed my initial aspirations and became a lawyer. You give me hope that justice is being done at some small scale.
❤
Wildwood Flower! One of my favorites! Very unexpected, so thank you! Kevin Casey, mandolin player, Poultrygeist.
Constitutional injury is like rape. A rape victim may not suffer from any physical injury, but everyone understands the injury of having the sanctity of their person violated, and the seriousness of that violation. Violation of our personal rights are not less serious than violation of our person!
I vote for a separate playlist of you playing the banjo!
Hi John so an officer pleading the 5th is in its self along with the vidio an admission of guilt and with the right jury instruction would undoubtedly lead to conviction and prison terms and even inditement for their superior,s
The areas that hire these criminals should pay also the same amount should be taken from officers and chief
Legislation needs to be passed that every cop needs to have his own liability insurance and do away with qualified immunity once and for all. With the police state that we live in nowadays, qualified immunity needs a rebooting. New legislation is needed!
You're a brave man
love banjo
He just explained how over paid a lawyer really is. a case sits on the shelf 2 or 3 years don't mean there working on it everyday, because there not. there bigger thieves than the cops.
So does the amount you stated include attorney's fees or not?
All of the SEU'S convictions should come under scrutiny.
Pickin' n grinnin' my brutha. Pick on!
The Wildwood flower or the Wildwood Weed.
FBI investigation= wink wink nod nod, especially since the FBI suggested the plaintiffs house in the first place.
She walked through the corn leading down to the river,
Her hair shone like gold in the hot morning sun.
She took all the love this poor boy could give her,
Then left me to die like a fox on the run.
I wouldn't say that they didn't hurt anybody.
So the only ones who make any money from these cases are the lawyers!…figures
The Song ist great
Very happy for all of you. I’m glad you guys settled and you play the banjo pretty good.
Love the music…reminds me of the good old Western movies.
I think that Lawyers are the problem.
Cops have qualified immunity. They can lose it in certain circumstances. Trump wants to give them full immunity like judges have. We think they are bad now; wait until they have full immunity.
Hate to see you smoking. It killed my dad, my mom, and helped to kill my two brothers.
They use 5th amendment in court and break the 4th. 🤪
Like the cigar and banjo
a good cigar, great music, and a settlement win….what is not to cheer
If you really think about it, aren’t all cops kind of creepy ? They live to sniff up our bums , follow us around in hopes to get to write us a ticket for mostly BS , want to pry into our daily lives . And they really think we should give them admiration and respect for that stuff. Rather sick people when one thinks about it .
What the judges think is appropriate settlements does not meet the priceless constitutional rights that so many have fought, suffered injuries and died for it.
So, the only people “making out” are the blood sucking lawyers! Sheesh!
Don't ever believe that the prosecutors, the defense attorneys, and the judges are not all on the same Page and that page is the one that pays them. I would bet my right nut, that this guy parties, and his friends, with judges, and prosecutors, and those are the circles he runs in as well our whole justice system is nothing but a con by rich people who make it work for themselves I'd like to know how much this guy took of that 185,000. No justice was done here
Try the carnivore diet for your arthritis. It has done wonders for me. Still can't give up the cigars though…
Freemasons.
No lessons learned by the corrupt cops when the money isn’t extracted from their personal finances. Comes right off the bottom line of the tax rolls. Shameful.
Keep up the good work
Yeah, buddy.. Love the banjo, too!
