On February 4, 2019, Officer Andrew Mamone stopped a car that was allegedly being driven in a suspicious manner. During the traffic stop, he discovered that two men were in possession of marijuana. Both men were asked to exit the car. The driver gave his real name, Tarik Green, but the passenger gave the false name of Carey Grant. His real name was Daquan Grant. Grant was placed in handcuffs and during the investigation, Grant attempted to run from officers. Officer Mamone and his partner caught him, but Grant managed to maneuver the handcuffs to the front of his body. After attempting to run again, Officer Mamone tased him. After subduing him, the officer attempted to get the handcuffs back behind Grant’s body. After Grant said he was unable to, Officer Mamone forced his leg back through the handcuffs as Grant screamed in pain. After an internal investigation, it was determined that Officer Mamone acted with unreasonable force. Mamone was suspended for 24 hours without pay.

  1. I got my cuffs in front of me when handcuffed in the back seat of a patrol car one time. When they realized it they took me out and placed them behind my back again. There really is no way I could go backwards and get them back behind my back and they knew it. But by the time we got to the station I had them in front again. He just left them that time.

  2. Does not surprise me at all they get away with torture that was plain and simple torture with this cop did that poor kid no matter what the warrant was for that was torture you could hear the kids screaming. The cop didn’t have any remorse did not care torture what they do.!!!!

  3. Sorry but if some street urchin did literally the opposite of everything you should do when you encounter police and got a bit roughed up, sucks to suck. Hopefully the changing tide of governments in the West will let police police and stop entertaining this nonsense.

  4. He has not been trained. Ok so was he trained to force legs to push h/cuffs from front to back. I mean he is only relying upon his training. Who trained him to force the legs through the h/cuffed hands ffs

  5. The joke for a cop is the prime example of that kid that got picked on in High School then became a cop so he could pick on people in his own sick sadistic way😮

  6. Yes, the police definitely need to show more compassion and sympathy toward prisoners. It's not like the guy was an attempted murderer who already fled the scene once. Oh wait…
