  1. The office asking politely, repeatedly while keeping calm and talking softly to the person in the truck should have tipped them off that something fairly serious was happening and they should comply. They could still get footage.
Even the second set of officers that arrived were calm and professional and didn’t mind them filming as long as they stepped back.
Repeating shhh shhhh shhh to the female officer while she was not escalating the situation was an asshole move.

  2. F for perpetrating arrests and seeking charges for clear retaliation against Civil Rights. Turns out they were right about every officer. 66 days for being in a public park? Public parks shouldn't be private for any amount of time

  3. Im usually always on the auditors side, but not this one, we clearly see and hear the dude in the truck isn't rite. The should have backed way up and gave them the space they asked for. Cool to about it.

  4. These two "auditors" should teach a class on how to be a BAD auditor that gives other auditors a bad name. Or, retitled, "Things to NOT do as an auditor." They would make a killing.

  5. What reason do you have to say the filming was antagonizing a potentially armed individual, other than an officer making the claim. The officer states the person is antagonized. But even if that’s true, which may or may not be true, that precedent requires officers to also believe the “perp” is armed. And almost always when cops think a “perp” is armed, they temporarily confiscate the weapon or frequently restrain the “perp” for officer safety. Granted I’m only halfway through the video but if the driver is both intoxicated and carrying a weapon it’s extremely unlikely an officer would allow that individual to remain unrestrained and/or armed. It feels like AtA is losing a lot of attention to detail recently

  6. If cops are blocking your caamera, Politely inform the officer you're recording and believe they're obstructing your right. If they claim to protect another officer, use a tripod and step away. Continued obstruction? You have evidence for a complaint. Multiple complaints may lead to policy change favouring constitutional rights.

  7. Right or wrong it’s a judge stepping outside the scope of his duties . Also police officers did nothing wrong here but officers and judges need to realize the public does need to have the ability to see and hear clearly when documenting a questionable police encounter where a member of the public may be having their rights violated that’s what the whole right to film should entail. Remember the police never had a problem in the 90s when the show cops made them out to be hero’s everyday for decades never said a word now all the sudden they don’t want anyone even close enough to hear anything . And as far as the public safety goes police officers are not responsible for the safety of the public , we are repaonsible for our own safety at all times . Police don’t get charged for not being able to keep anyone safe not in custody .

  8. Cops have a right to have them leave the area, as he was escalating the situation by aggravating the man in the truck. Concern for escalating a situation gives the police the right to make the “auditors” leave the area

  9. This is when the auditors are pushing to far and should be arrested. That's way to close to the police doing their job. Could of went bad bc of their actions and the want to be relevant. They give good auditors who's actually doing it for a good reason a bad name. Just 2 dumbasses making things worse and getting in the way. The officers did a great job and wish more was trained like them. While I don't agree that charges shouldn't of been pressed bc he's broken the law before and he could of made the situation worse and you're fast to point out law enforcement should face charges if they abuse their power.

  10. Am sorry but those camera people were annoying. They put cameras near someone going through something and was not mentally well who got clearly aggratated by them. They put the officers in a situation. Auditors were distracting officers from stopping any potential issues. Point is they are within their rights to record. But this was a dangerous situation that didn't need them acting like children for being asked to move back from a dangerous situation if he had a weapon not a traffic stop.

  11. Given that police are absolutely and limitlessly allowed to lie to civilians, and frequently do lie concerning filming that they don't happen to like, it seems unreasonable to assume that they are always being truthful when telling said civilian that something is a legal command. How is one to know
that a cop is lying or telling the truth? That is a huge problem with allowing them to knowingly and willfully being able to lie at all. Clearly a "cry wolf" type of situation. Who's to know the difference? It's arguably significant that Mr. Chi was on probation. He has no greater ability to tell truth from allowable lie than anyone else. 🤔

  12. I'm not sure I'm good with the warrant. They weren't saying anything until the officers addressed them, which set off the gentlemen, and he more than likely wouldn't have been if they ignored them. If the second officer had walked up and just said, "We are dealing with a gentleman with a PTSD issue, and if you could just step back a little further than normal, it would really help settle the situation down." I would have understood the warrant if they hadn't backed it up after that. They were under the impression it was a regular contact if I don't think it's asking the officers to explain why they need more distance when required. (Please don't tell me they don't have to do that or didn't have time, he had time to test his 1st amendment knowledge with them, so he could have just quickly explained why)

  13. Why did Chi get get a harsher sentence when he was farther back than the other auditor and the suspect in the truck was more mad at the other guy going "shhhhh" to the officer? The lady officer was even talking to the guy going shhh and really didn't tell Chi to step back

  14. If police officers commit crimes or do bad things, they get a year in prison, but one important thing is that God is watching those who do bad things and they are not angels, they make bad people among us, but they go to a place of hell

  15. Big surprise someone that uses the communist fist in their name and also likes to quiz people on our constitution ended up being a complete fraud and dousche. I am SHOCKED.

  16. Good. Those guys were intentionally stirring the pot. I was afraid the guy in the pickup was going to get out and threaten those guys with his knife which is why I feel the auditors were interfering with an investigation. I feel the arrests were warranted.

  17. Even tho these guys are tools. One could argue that its not THEIR obligation to stop doing a lawfully protected activity just because some jackweed is annoyed at them. Police don't decide what gets recorded in public, and that man in the truck needs to respect people's rights just like everyone else has to. Honestly… why did he get away with threatening to ram people with his truck and get let go?

  18. These cops were awesome dealing with the subject and the cameramen! The male officer did a good job of pulling the cameramen back and distracting them without using force or coercion. The only thing they might have done better is quietly mentioning that the subject was mentally agitated, but I’m not sure these d-bags would have taken the hint.
