A Connecticut teen died in a hospital two hours after her boyfriend dropped her off at home from a night of partying in May 2023. Authorities allege Cooper Ouellette ran over Sophie Ringquist with his pickup truck during a heated argument. Witnesses from the parties Ringquist attended that night said Ouellette kicked the 17-year-old, who had called multiple friends to get a ride home early and get away from Ouellette. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down the evidence investigators recovered from Ringquist’s phone and the charges now faced by Ouellette.

So the defense strategy is going to be blame the victim. not the monster, who did it. Clearly a Souless POS!
Went to school with him never would have expected this from him
The Education of Young People in the area of Domestic Violence is Tip Top Important – There are more and more cases of DV in the teen to early 20 population than there were 15 years ago. The RISK is VERY HIGH and the Risk Of Fatal Injury Is Also High. If you EVER See a Young Person Strike Kick Bite Push Down etc their Boyfriend / Girlfriend – Please Say Something. Please go into a bathroom or out of sight and CALL THE POLICE. That Victim is Scared and Needs You ! That Victim May Not Know How Dangerous Their Partner Is Before It's Too Late. Also She Was Likely Beat Up in the Car – – It is not unheard of for Abusers to beat their partner next to them while engaged in driving – – where the person is in close proximity and cannot get away – – Her Injuries From That Beating Would Not Be Discernible from those of hitting the ground after getting out of a moving vehicle and certainly you are not going to know if she was beat up if she had also been run over. Terrible terrible horrible loss and last moments of life for this young DV victim.
Lady if your partner is abusing you need to let him go
because Love is not supposed to hurt and
if your friend is being abused say something to someone
😮
Live in CT, never heard about this. Harwinton is kind of hicksvillle for CT.
if she jumped out of the car @ 10 mph & she got ran over, wouldnt that imply that most likely he had to put his truck in reverse? unless she didnt jump out & instead fell out like someone being pushed would fall out and then got caught under his tire. and him going 10 mph means that it doesnt take him a whole football field to stop soooo???
When is drinking and driving “ a little questionable?”
You sound like you’re defending the criminal here. Too impartial for someone who ran over a young girl! Yuck to both of you.
depressing and enraging seeing horrible crime like this especially in my state
Nobody saved this young lady from a controlling, abusive boyfriend!
This is real sad how come did it charge him then just put him in prison for the rest of his life .
He ran her over. He killed her because he was an abuser ,
He needs to be in prison for the rest of his life.
how do they know that even what really happened?… are they just going to believe his story?
I have been in a DV situation. It took a lot to get out. I'm no longer in that situation, and life is so very different! Soooooo much happiness!! Relaxing! Get out ASAP!! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT!!
Once again, a case of domestic violence ending in death and once again no relevant information provided in the commentary.
Too often the victims are blamed for the harm that comes to them from a predictable pattern of abusive behaviour and this show does nothing but examine the defence of a drunk bully who KILLED a young girl. The fact that he got behind the wheel of the vehicle under the influence and someone died, is clear indifference, the added layer of an abusive relationship elevates the crime. Start actually bringing on people who know what they are talking about, or stop reporting on these issues.
What was she doing with that creature in the first place
What a nightmare for her family. I wish someone had spoken up
OMG, all this analyisis of the victim's actions, when in reality, she was probably terrified, sitting in a big truck roaring around at top speeds, driven by a "boyfriend" with a history of abusing her. She took any seemingly impulsive action to save her life. In the truck she's in danger, out of the truck she's in danger, and everything happening in a moment.
Awful. I wonder what she was telling her parents about the injuries
What a piece of garbage!
so she had been sending pics to her "friends" of her abuse injuries ? how are those friends
Those witnesses at the party saw him abusing her and no one stepped in or offered her a different ride home? Disgusting.
Pronounced oohlet

I just lost all respect for investigators in Ct. Pathetic. That’s a state not worth going to.
dudes bf is not gonna treat him well in the concrete box
He gone lay out a story alright 😂
Such bs
Manslaughter?
End of days.
nothing of value was lost.. women love this kind of relationship and friendzone the nice guys.
Sounds like she was trying to tell ppl what was going on. Its so hard to leave, but it sounds to me that hes not completely at fault if she did jump out while drunk and the truck moving
I don't see this being a complicated case at all… Female jurors will have no mercy on him and will for sure find him guilty given his past pattern of physical abuse
him picked her
he’s is a liar
guy looks 30
Teach your daughters to stay away from the barbarian invaders
STOP STAYING WITH PEOPLE WHO HIT YOU. IF THEY HIT YOU ONCE, THEY WILL HIT YOU AGAIN. I BEG YOU🙏😭
he is a liar
manslaughter is pathetic.
a minor, too.
second (or first) degree.
Another Andrew Tate devotee.
Her big funk ahh💀
This is really scary and tragic. Rest in peace to Sophie ❤
One time I asked my mom to take me home while she was drunk because I didn’t want to be around her, and didn’t want to walk several miles in the dark. She drove like a maniac up and down a steep gravel mountain and I begged for her to let me out because she crashed off the edge once. I ended up jumping out and my head hit the ground immediately, right as she was turning right. My head could’ve gotten crushed by the tire, and my brother thought it did. He seen it and screamed bloody murder and I got up quickly to reassure him I was ok. I had cognitive issues for years after that incident.
