Florida man Timothy Ferriter is accused of locking up his adopted son inside of a room he had built in the family’s garage. Ferriter faces charges of aggravated child abuse, false imprisonment and neglect of a child. Court records out of Jupiter, Florida show that the door to the room had a deadbolt on the outside, along with multiple other locks. Investigators also found video from a ceiling camera that showed Ferriter allegedly punching, throwing, and beating the son multiple times. When Ferriter’s son wasn’t in school, he allegedly was locked in the room — only allowed out to eat or sometimes use the restroom.

  1. Love the shady question re: the expert witness being compensated for their time, after the defense asked the psychiatrist that.

  2. The Defense psychiatrist was the 1st witness to give testimony in a clear, engaging and informative way. It's too bad she was on their "team" so to speak. I almost feel that the parents were gobsmacked, "ooooh, that's why." Despicable parenting.

  3. Firstly to make it clear the parents are horrible and should be punished. The child is not to blame for what happened at all. But the defense has the full right to explore what happened or lead to this. Not saying that anything is an excuse.
But take it from other cases. Husband kills wife… defense explores the 20 times she cheated and 1 child was not the husbands… this lead to him shooting her. Again this does not excuse killing and he should be punished.
Someone assualts someone… defense explores the guy lost his job, went on a drinking binge and used meth…. he lost his mind and assaulted someone. Again it does not make it excuseable. But this is what defense does.

  4. This judge is a serious dink. To complain about the time the defense is having to add to their case, meanwhile also denying them the opportunity to present video evidence, after allowing the prosecution over 8 hrs straight of video evidence, is denying the defense a fair and impartial trial. This judges actions, and the way he completely disregards the laws on the books, and legal definitions of words like malicious and physical, should really worry the public. I would not want to be in front of this judge on either side. It's impossible to make a case when he overrules 98% of defense objections, while sustaining over 98% of prosecuting objections. Tim should have a case for appeal, but i wouldn't be surprised if this judge withheld the paperwork until after the due date for the appeal. Funny how this isn't the first case of a Judge doing this in Florida

  5. People should be really concerned about the blatant disregard this judge shows towards the laws that are on the books, and the definitions of words like malicious, and physical.

  6. I would love to see this judge often on trials, love him. Very fair, intelligent and doesn’t take any c**p from anyone ❤

  7. I wish the lawyer for the prosecution would stop saying correct and right, after every question. It's annoying and borderline leading.

  8. defences expert witness doesnt have even 1 % of the knowledge or the experience either clinical, forensic, court or academically of the prosecutions!!, my goodness this women is dangerous!!

  9. The State did an amazing job with this horrific case. Judge is fantastic! The defense has made everything worse, if that’s even possible! And, what was the point of showing those videos? Absolutely zero interaction with their son! More interest in football than their son. I think from listening, it made the jury’s job even easier. GUILTY!! Shame on these two “parents”.

  10. I have watched many trials, and I have to say this is the first expert witness that I believe has not been biased on either side. In my view she seems very honest 🤷‍♀️

  11. Who exactly is going to hire this expert witness for anything involving psychology or therapy? She said on the stand she doesn’t consider this close to solitary confinement based on a couple of videos of him eating with the family. That’s crazy. I wonder how her career is doing outside of being hired to do scummy bottom-feeder work like this

  12. You wouldn’t lock the dog in windowless concrete cell for 14 hours, would you?!?… this is horrendous, especially that those two look …”normal”?…But they are NOT

  13. What i cannot fathom is the sheer volume of video footage and audio. This is no way to live. This is like a Big Brother house. The footage used by the State puts the defendant in a bad light and the "better" footage provided by the defense also works to the child's benefit because it shows that when he's given the chance he interacts normally with his siblings. These people are abusers through and through, sat there all self righteousness trying to prove the child is a monster who deserved the treatment he was given and even went as far as to cross examine his daughter to prove her a liar. Repulsive people who should not be allowed around children at all

  14. How does the adopted mother get to be in the court room if she will be tried also. Also how does Tim keep getting to turn around and talk to her. That shouldnt happen.

  15. So yeah, let's put parents in trial for reacting to dangerous behaviors exhibited by a child in their home but not let the defense talk about any of the dangerous behaviors. That seems fair. 🤦‍♀️

  16. The female defense attorney is far and away better than the male attorney. She should have done more of the work here. The prosecution is being ridiculous with these objections.

  17. I dont this Witness helped the defence as much as they thought it would. She is explaining this lad has, massive issues steming from his early years, which makes what they did to him even worse.

  18. He is very sweet with his baby brother. He and his sisters talk like regular siblings that age range to each other. I was told he was a monster kind of feel jipped
