Internal investigation units need to be a separate entity from the police department. Hired and trained to investigate police corruption only. They don’t need to be ex cops who know how to write speeding tickets or anything just learn to look at evidence and find any wrong doing. If they use cops to investigate cops they are going to be biased because they were trained by the same people who taught them its us against them.
